Black Ship

From Smallville Wiki

The Black Ship

The Black Ship was a large, black Kryptonian spacecraft that housed the Brain InterActive Construct as well as the Disciples of Zod, Nam-Ek and Aethyr. Interestingly, it was shaped like the Kryptonian pentagon, had a frictionless surface [citation needed], and bore the symbol of General Zod on its underbelly.  It also served to power the Brain InterActive Construct .

The Black Ship was on Krypton while Zor-El and two of General Zod's disciples, Nam-Ek and Aethyr, were having a conversation via holograms. The ship was visible behind the disciples, open and ready for their journey to Earth.

[edit] Season Four

The Black Ship came to Earth during the 2005 meteor shower, after the Crystal of Air was stained with the blood of Genevieve Teague. The ship's crash-landing was witnessed by Lana Lang.

[edit] Season Five

Lex Luthor had the Black Ship moved to Warehouse 15, where Lex's team of scientists attempted to study and open it, beginning Project Scion.

It was later revealed that Professor Milton Fine was actually an extension of the Brain InterActive Construct. The Black Ship vanished from Warehouse 15 at the same time Clark Kent defeated Brainiac in the Fortress of Solitude, as Brainiac decided to cut his losses in Smallville after Clark refused to become General Zod's vessel.

The Black Ship relocated to the Honduran jungle. Brainiac created three duplicates of himself to fulfill his task of releasing Zod from the Phantom Zone. He later used the Black Ship to abduct Lex and endow him with Kryptonian powers.

The effects of Clark Kent's heat vision on the black box.

After inhabiting Lex Luthor's body, General Zod retrieved the Kryptonian black box, the Black Ship's hard drive, destroying the ship in the process. He attempted to use the black box to reshape Earth into a new Krypton via Lex's laptop computer, which was the center of the worldwide computer virus Brainiac unleashed. The device was blasted apart by Clark Kent, leaving behind half of it. Lex found it and took it to his scientists.

Lana Lang later found out that Lex salvaged the black box and wanted him to use it against any more Kryptonians should they ever invade Earth again. The hard drive's power was absorbed by Baern and it dissolved.

Lex again salvaged what was left of Brainiac and his scientists tried to study the ashes left by Baern.

[edit] Season Seven

After a year, the ashes began to evolve into its natural form, a black metallic liquid; the liquid was Brainiac trying to reboot. After Lex Luthor's lab was destroyed during a battle between Clark Kent and a super-powered Lana Lang, Brainiac escaped and inhabited the body of Casey Brock in an attempt to take humanoid form again.

Without the Ship however, Brainiac had to reboot and repair by absorbing trace metals and large sums of electricity from electric generators and power plants.
