This article is about Chloe Sullivan of Earth-2. For her Earth doppelganger, see Chloe Sullivan.
Chloe Anne Sullivan[1] is the Earth-2 counterpart of Chloe Sullivan and cousin of the widow, Lois Queen. She was the last survivor of Earth-2.
Physical Appearance
Chloe is a young, Caucasian female. She is fair, with short black hair and blue-green eyes. She is generally regarded as very attractive and athletic person.
Chloe's style in clothes is mostly simple, usually wearing jeans, T-shirts and jackets. She also often wears a green kryptonite necklace.
Early life
On the graduation day at Smallville High School in 2005, Clark Luthor attacked the ceremony, killing some meteor-infected people. Chloe tried to save herself by hiding under a desk, Clark could locate her because he was able to hear the thumping of her heartbeat but he soon felt the harming effects of the Kryptonite necklace that she was wearing around her neck and so he left.
A couple of years before the "Crisis" at Chloe's apartment, Oliver practices shots with a bow and arrow. Chloe drinks whiskey and they talk about their plan to take down Clark Luthor. Oliver worries he'll irk people by trying to dig up the town of Smallville in search of the meteor rock they'll need. Chloe dismisses his concern and tells him it's the only thing that will work for their cause. She then asks why he's there with her instead of with her cousin, his girlfriend. Oliver announces his going to ask Lois to marry him, to which Chloe laughs and snidely rejects the notion. Chloe corrects his shooting posture and he nails the bullseye. They both acknowledge that they've got but one shot against Luthor and it must count. They embrace and kiss, with Oliver said that can't keep doing this, implying that they had an affair without Lois's knowledge.
In Metropolis Oliver has called a press conference to reveal that Ultraman is really Clark Luthor and to announce that Queen Industries is going to provide every citizen of Metropolis with a personal amount of "meteor rock" with which to defend themselves from the villain. Meanwhile, Chloe is waiting with a sniper rifle and a Kryptonite bullet with which to shoot Ultraman, whose appearance on the scene is fully expected. And appear he does, fully aware that it's a trap, as well as snapping Oliver's neck when Chloe fails to shoot for apparent fear of hitting Oliver.
During the events that ended the days of Earth-2, Chloe is seen standing alone in an almost destroyed Metropolis. Suddenly her cousin, Lois Queen, runs toward her. Lois screams to Chloe to get to her space ship. Just then, a particle beam from a monstrous ship flying overhead shoots down and vaporizes Lois, leaving Chloe screaming in horror.
Earth-2 was eventually destroyed and before Chloe could be taken out, she used a rocket ship made by the late Oliver Queen's company and flew away to Earth-1, where she seeks refuge and to warn Clark Luthor's benevolent counterpart, Clark Kent.
She arrived on Earth-1 and crash-landed in Smallville.
Season Eleven
When Chloe and Oliver of Earth-1 investigated the crash, Chloe of Earth-2 suddenly appeared and was engaged into a fight with Oliver. While fighting she told him that they had done this many times before. Chloe of Earth-2 defeated Oliver and after that the Earth-1 Chloe shot her in the arm. When Chloe touched the other one there was a huge blast that send both of them flying back.
A Monitor then found Earth-2 Chloe and told her she has ran far but her quest has ended and this Earth would die just like Earth-2. He revealed her body was filled with Bleed, the anti matter that separates all universes, which caused her and the other counterpart to repel each other apart. The Monitor then proceeded to kill her, while saying that his kind exists to maintain order in the universe and to succeed, they need to exterminate all life. Moments later her doppelgänger and Oliver found her badly wounded in the corn field and when they removed her helmet they found out who she really was. Before she passed out she revealed to her alternate self and Oliver that Earth-2 was destroyed.
She later dies after she was taken to the Smallville Medical Center.
After her death, Emil Hamilton was able to place her body in cryogenic state at S.T.A.R. Labs, using technology Clark confiscated when he and Batman captured Mr. Freeze, in order to make Chloe of Earth-1 access her doppelgänger's memories via Project Intercept, that was stolen from Lex Luthor by Oliver. Through this action, Chloe of Earth-1 has inadvertently possessed some of Chloe's memories, thus ensuring her legacy and the continuation of her mission on Earth-1.
Appearances
- Season Eleven: Guardian, Haunted (flashback only)
- Smallville Miniseries: Alien (flashback only)
Notes
- According to Bryan Q. Miller, there was a scene that did not make it into the final script, featuring Clark Luthor's demise, as one of Chloe's flashes. It was going to take place right after the events of Season 10's episode Kent. There, it would have been revealed that Chloe of Earth-2 attacked Luthor at the Fortress, right after Clark had first communicated with his father, along with that Universe's versions of Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Cyborg with blue kryptonite enhanced weapons. Clark would have tried to show his enemies that he had changed but they would have been too vengeful to care with Chloe giving the final shot and avenging once and for all her lover, Oliver. There was an intention of keeping this particular scene in case it would be decided to keep Chloe's flashes of her Earth-2 doppelganger as a season-long storyline but that didn't eventually come to fruition.[2]
- Chloe of Earth-2 is a brunette rather than a blonde. It is unknown if she is actually a natural brunette or if she is a actually blonde like her Earth-1 counterpart but dyes her hair brown.
