Dean Winters is an insurance adjuster and the new husband of Nell Potter, who moved Nell to Metropolis with him. This had caused an argument between Lana Lang and Nell. Nell eventually moved away to Metropolis with Dean but fortunately Lana had Chloe to shelter her for the rest of her high school years as Lana was still underage to live alone.
