Dr. Thomas Burton is a neurosurgeon from Hub City. He developed an experimental serum that shrinks primary brain tumors.
Season Two[]
When Ryan James was diagnosed with a brain tumor, Clark Kent learned, through Lex Luthor, that Dr. Burton had developed an experimental treatment. Lex spent several hours tracking down Dr. Burton, and although he was scheduled to take a six-week trip, Clark caught up with him and persuaded him to treat Ryan. Dr. Burton then tried to treat Ryan James' brain tumor, which caused his severe headaches. The treatment ultimately failed, but it did give Ryan a few more days to live.
