Detective Paul Cage is a member of the Metropolis Police Department and was the investigating officer in the Metron Labs murders in 2004.

He was the leading officer in the case and was sorting out evidence to arrest Lex Luthor for the murders also wanting to question Clark. He gathered enough evidence to arrest Lex but was interrupted by FBI agent Frank Loder who gave Lex immunity in exchange for help bringing down Lionel.
