Olympus is the seventh story arc of Smallville Season 11,[1] a comic book series from DC Comics that follows the continuity of the television series. The arc features the introduction of Princess Diana of Themyscira/Wonder Woman.
Summary[]
From DC Comics: Superman and new ally Wonder Woman race to stop magical terrorist Felix Faust from launching an attack on the nation's capital. Meanwhile, Lois launches an attack of her own by digging into the shadowy connection between Faust and the new Department of Extra-Normal Operations.

Chapter Fifty-Six[]
Young Diana and Steve meet for the first time.
Twenty years ago, a boy named Steve Trevor has just washed up on the coast of an island after surviving an accident. When he wakes up he sees a young girl around his age who receives him with hostility at first, telling him that men are not allowed on this island. But she decides to hide him when she hears the older sisters approaching. Then the girl introduces herself as Diana of Themyscira and tells Steve to be her "secret friend".
Martha goes on a meeting with the Director of D.E.O.
At present time, in Washington DC, Senator Martha Kent gets into the car of a man who is nicknamed "Bones" and is the director of the secret organization, called D.E.O. Bones, impressed by Martha's achievements on the Vigilante Registration Act, asks her to work for D.E.O. when her term as a Senator ends, but Martha seems not to be interested in collaborating, having already been aware of the organization's actions when she was still acting as "Red Queen" against Checkmate.
Bones and Martha get attacked.
Suddenly, they are attacked by a team of men that appear out of nowhere. Martha is rescued by a mysterious woman who defeats some of them, while stopping their bullets with a pair of bracelets on her wrists, and forces their leader to use a magic spell that allows them to flee.
Martha calls Clark to tell him about the attack.
The mysterious savior of Martha flees from the scene.
Soon after, Martha calls her son Clark, who was sleeping with Lois, and informs him about the attack on her. Clark seems to be very concerned about his mother's health and asks her questions but the only thing Martha can say is that someone saved her.
Chapter Fifty-Seven[]
Lois and Clark arrive in Washington airport.
Clark and Lois land at Dulles Airport in Washington, to cover the news of the attack against Clark's mother. At the airport, Clark says he could simply fly them to Washington instead of taking a plane to get there but Lois says that if someone spots Superman in Washington and finds out that there is no evidence of how Clark Kent, who surprisingly is also there, flew into town, it could possibly blow his cover off, in which Clark agrees. Then he notices a girl who is crying because she has left her teddy bear at home, and without being seen by anyone, flies to the girl's house and brings the bear making it look as it had been left on the plane.
Clark and Lois are greeted warmly by Martha and Shelby
In Martha's house, they enjoy a good feast and then talk about how Conner is, Martha reveals that he is at San Francisco attending a school that Jay Garrick made. They also talk about the attack, how worried Clark was and the mysterious woman in white who saved Martha. Lois says that the attack had something to do with D.E.O., mentioning they appear to be more than a little shady when they took Corben into custody last month, they also discussing on how to act now. Clark says he will investigate the D.E.O and Lois will investigate Martha's mysterious savior.
Clark meets Steve Trevor.
At the headquarters of D.E.O., Mr. Bones protests the level of ineptitude of his men against the attack suffered by the Senator. He is also angry because his men recently lost the trail of the White Martian that appeared in Gotham City months ago. Then one of his men reports to Bones that Clark Kent is outside their headquarters. And indeed, Clark is in the location where it should be the basis of the D.E.O., but finds nothing in sight. Suddenly, the whole structure emerges from the ground and a young man comes out to get Clark Kent, introducing himself as Steve Trevor.
Chapter Fifty-Eight[]
Queen Hippolyta finds Diana and Steve playing.
Fifteen years ago at Themyscira, young Steve Trevor still lives on the island and has also buried his parents, who died on the accident, there. Diana takes care of him, and the two seem to be very close. While playing football, with a ball that Diana has made from a pig's skin, they end up falling into a lake and suddenly Hippolyta, Diana's mother, appears followed by a group of her Amazons. The presence of men is not permitted on the island, as a young Amazon says, and she states that they have to kill Steve. Diana starts a fight with the young Amazon defending her friend. Then the Queen, after commanding her fellow Amazons to take the boy, cuts the discussion saying she knows what to do.
Diana and Lois talk about why she is in Washington.
On the roof of a building in Washington, Lois Lane has tracked down the vigilante dressed in white and has an encounter with her. Both women talk about the new vigilante's purpose in Washington. Lois mentions that the U.S. is a very proud nation and the vigilante says she comes from a very proud nation too. It seems that both women are starting to get along well, when they are suddenly interrupted by the appearance of some dreadful-looking winged creatures, which, as the vigilante says, come from a place of legend and magic.
Steve tours with Clark to the D.E.O. headquarters.
Inside the D.E.O. headquarters, Steve Trevor tours Clark Kent in the facilities. Steve does not tell much except from the fact that the agency was formed to prevent something like the organization Checkmate would recur. Suddenly an emergency alarm rings so Steve leaves and when Clark is left alone, he prepares for action.
Diana and Lois fight against the winged creatures.
Diana and Lois fight side by side against the winged creatures that manage to hurt the princess given their magical nature. Lois jokes about the fact that she and her fiance have much to talk about, and Diana is surprised of what kind of man could be worthy to be a mate for a woman as strong and independent as Lois. The answer to that question comes in the door, as Superman arrives and defeats the monsters. Within minutes a group of D.E.O., captained by Steve Trevor, also arrives. Diana flees away before Steve can recognize her, but when Lois sees Trevor she reveals to Superman that he was her ex-boyfriend.
Elsewhere, the winged creatures, now transformed back into men, deliver Diana's blood to their master, Felix Faust. He proceeds to pour it into a boiling cauldron and states that he comes closer to fulfilling a promise he made to his master and that "the world of men will be plunged into a darkness it truly deserves".
Chapter Sixty[]
General Lane and Director Bones discuss the D.E.O.'s activities.
The next morning, the D.E.O. has the place quarantined while they are investigating the insides of the building. General Sam Lane and Mr. Bones discuss the events of what has happened. Sam Lane want assurance that the events shouldn't happen again or else the President will rethink the D.E.O.'s independence. Mr. Bones argues that the D.E.O. are moving in directions the Government can't and won't with General Lane said shades of Waller are poking through his makeup. Bones wonder how Superman wound up in all of this. General Lane replies wherever his daughter goes, trouble and the Man of Steel are sure to follow, but not necessarily in that order. Bones ask what happened to keeping a passive eye on him, with Lane saying that the recon was being generated by an Outside Vendor who has experienced some "technical difficulties" . But he hears Superman had it all under control before Team 7 arrived and started shooting up the place while Bones was wondering where the team's leader is. Then Sam Lane says he has a pretty good guess.
Lois and Steve catch-up.
Meanwhile in the capital the President of the United States is doing a quick jog with his Secret Service before he starts to hide when he sees Lois who he remembers from the events of "Contact". Steve comments how the girl who use to drag him under tables is now able to make the president run and hide with Lois simply replying "Lemons out of Lemonade". Lois then comments on Steve's new positions where Trevor admits he trusts Bones as far as he can throw him but the cause is just and needed and also Bones helped put Steve back into shape after he was kicked out of the base. But he still thinks about the woman that brought him back which Lois starts to playfully tease him about. Steve asks about Lois's love life thinking Wes Keenan finally popped the question but she says that is a stone best left unturned before saying the lucky man is Clark leaving Steve to look in disbelief. He says that he knows Lois brought him out for more than just catching up over coffee which she then says the "Wonder Woman" with whom she was fighting monsters and saved Senator Kent's life knew about her connection with the military. So Lois starts to wonder why "the woman in white" was looking into the military and Steve suggests she may has been stalking Director Bones too but Lois still needs more answers.
Diana confronts Artemis before she leaves the island.
Ten years ago, on Themyscira, Diana is forging an aircraft with which she will try to leave from the island, when Artemis comes to confront her about leaving. Diana says she is tired of waiting for the Queen, her mother, to return home so she decides to go and find her herself. Artemis says that if she leaves too, there will be no heir to succeed her mother as the Queen but Diana has already taken her decision. Artemis then reveals that the Oracles of Themyscira had sent her to stop Diana from leaving the island because they had already predicted that she would do so. Artemis fights with Diana, questioning her about her reasons for leaving. Diana succeeds to defeat Artemis and then leaves the island with the craft.
Clark reveals his true identity to Diana.
Clark and Diana talk about her experiences in "men's world".
In the present day, at the Marston Home for Wayward girls, two children are fighting over a toy before two older girls break them up before they start arguing and fighting each other. Diana comes and says this is neither the time or place for violence. The two girls then insult her calling her a "stray dog" before Diana tells the girls to look away for a moment and picks them up telling them to calm down. Clark then comes in and asks Diana for some of her time. At first she doesn't want to talk to him, but then he takes off his glasses, and she realizes he is Superman and leaves with him. Diana admits since her arrival she has been helping others who can't help themselves. Clark comments on that saying it seems she spends most of her "helping" time putting men in the hospital. She says during her time in "men's world" she has realized that men are rarely victimized by the opposite sex like these women have been. Then Clark asks her about her connection with Steve Trevor and she replies by saying it is complicated. Suddenly Watchtower communicates with Clark and tells him that she had tracked down the hostiles that he, Lois and Diana encountered at the cathedral and then sends him the coordinates.
Diana realizes that her mother is still alive.
Some time later, Superman and Diana arrive at the place, where Tess sent them and Diana says she feels that dark magicks were deprecated there. Superman sees some footprints, indicating that the harpies they fought were actually human and Diana sees some tablets with the stories of her people. Then Superman uses his x-ray vision and realizes that someone has covered the original stonework with new ones and Diana says not just anyone could have done that. She states that these are actually messages and that her mother is still alive.
Chapter Sixty-One[]
Bones learns one of his private alerts went off.
In his office, Director Bones gets his weekly makeup application in order to hide his true look, a black skeleton. He then learned that one of his private alarms and a specific fingerprint match was made through IAFSIS.
Clark, Martha and Lois learn about Felix Faust's connection to Bones.
Meanwhile Lois arrives back to Martha's house after walking Shelby through DC. Martha and Lois asks about what progress Clark is making. He found that the prints belong to Felix and that the prints were entered into the system from records collected in the forties. Clark tries contacting Tess but it is revealed for some reason she's offline but Martha was able to hack into the computer because when "the Red Queen takes down a shadowy organization, no one thinks to change their password". They find out Faust was part of shadowy Anti-Occult unit called "ShadowPact" that was formed in War World 2 along with Director Bones, who looks exactly as he does now, as well as Zatanna Zatara's father, John Zatara, who left the unit after the first mission, then they start to wonder if Diana was truly after Faust or if she was after Mister Bones. Clark then changes into Superman in order to get information with Lois following in her car.
Faust tells Bones to arrest Diana.
Meanwhile at Congress hall, Felix is admiring before Director Bones comes in and interrupts. He comments on how Felix looks like he hasn't aged a day, where Felix admits he found away to iron out the kinks and not have his skins and muscles painted visible like Director Bones does. Felix then tells Bones that he is trying to finish what Shadowpact started and in order to do that he needs Diana arrested, but Bones denies that request claiming after thee VRA, the can't touch the heroes because public support is too strong. Then Felix reveals she is not of this earth, causing Bones to wonder if she is an alien,before Felix threatens to send something way worse than Harpies if Bones doesn't comply with his demands. Bones is not unnerved and says Team 7 can handle anything Felix dishes out. Felix then quickly loses patience and nearly takes down Bones removing his makeup with magic simply stating "Hades taketh away and Faust returneth". Bones then begs for mercy with Felix simply tells Bones to bring Diana into custody before he gets Team 7 to lock Bones away into the Black Room along with the rest of the oddities.
Steve reunites with Diana.

Later at Steve's apartment in Alexandria, Virginia, while Steve is taking his shower, Diana enters the rooms and looks around, finding the football they made when they were younger. Right then Steve enters the room, recognizing the mystery woman in his apartment as the burglar from earlier. Diana was able to quickly subdue Steve simply because he pulled a gun on her before Steve lost his towel standing before Diana in his birthday suit.Diana quickly turns around in embarrassment, unable to believe how much Steve has grown. After a quick conversation, Steve realizes the mystery woman was actually Diana. He asked when did she get superpowers and she calmly tells him that her powers developed over time and why she came to Man's World. But before she explains she sees a picture of her mother with a young Steve. Now enraged she demands answers and asks if Steve is the reason she never returned with Steve he swears he hasn't seen her in years. Suddenly the D.E.O. surrounds Steve's apartment with Steve trying to explain that he has no idea but Diana quickly shushes Steve before preparing to go to battle. Meanwhile Mr. Bones is outside calling for Diana's arrest.
Chapter Sixty-Two[]
Superman locates Diana.
Superman flies in the sky, while Lois is driving her car following Clark. He spots a fire, while talking to Lois by an intercom and says he has located Diana, with his telescopic vision, outside of Steve Trevor's apartment. He also tells Lois that Diana is taking care of a tank.
Diana faces off against a tank.
And indeed, Diana admires the craftsmanship of the tank before breaking it down effortlessly. Mr. Bones orders the soldiers to shoot at her again and when they do hit Diana, she appears yet again unharmed. Diana then proceeds to destroy the tank and as she flips it over, one of the soldiers inside accidentally press the fire button which causes the tank to explode but fortunately Superman saves the soldiers just in time. Steve then comes out of his apartment and tries to reason with Bones and General Lane but Lane orders to fire at them again. Diana succeeds to deflect the bullets and save Steve but more soldiers fire at her. Suddenly, as Diana is busy on fighting the soldiers of D.E.O., a sniper aims at the head of Trevor and shoots at him but thanks to the quick intervention of Superman, who catches the bullet with his hands, he doesn't get killed.
The D.E.O. arrests Diana and Superman argues about it with General Lane.
General Lane explains to Superman that the attack Bones ordered against Diana has been approved by the U.S. president himself. Superman defends Diana by saying she hasn't done anything wrong and she is only looking for her mother. Bones then responds by saying to Diana that he can take her to her mother. Diana accepts the offer and to even being handcuffed with magical shackles, saying that if they keep their word she will not struggle. D.E.O. then takes Diana into their custody and moves her from the scene. Lane prevents Superman from interfering, saying to him to choose his battles and find another way to handle this. Then Clark says to Steve to run away from the scene and meet Lois in an alley before he get to trouble too.
Faust reveals the reason he wants Diana.
Somewhere else, Faust watches as his spell, that he made with a drop of his blood, has led D.E.O. to catch Diana. With Diana's presence inside D.E.O.'s facility he feels confident as he needs her to release his master from the prison he was locked in years ago by Hippolyta, who is also revealed to be a prisoner of the D.E.O.
Chapter Sixty-Four[]
Diana arrives in New York.
Ten years ago, Diana is in a boat traveling from Themyscira to New York. Two sailors are talking about her wondering if she ever sleeps and how she managed to move a bunch of things in the hold of the boat with the forklift broken. While arriving at New York's port, Diana is fascinated by the Statue of Liberty and impressed by the view of it she states that there is hope for this "New World" yet.
Bones tortures Diana.
In the present day, Diana is being tortured by Director Bones in D.E.O.'s headquarters. Bones reveals to her the truth about him and Faust and the real mastermind behind all this, Hades. He says that many years ago, when they were fighting in World War II, Bones and Faust made a deal with Hades to give them extraordinary longevity. Bones says he was unable to fulfill his part of the deal and so he paid the prize, implying that Hades is responsible for his skin's condition. After his revelation, Bones continues to torture Diana explaining that he wants to prevent her from hindering Faust's plan and also he wants to find what are her limits. Diana then hears with her super hearing, Clark's voice, who tells her to endure while he searches for her mother.
Clark asks agent Chase about the D.E.O. arresting Diana.
Agent Chase explains that the "monks" are there to prevent evil forces from entering or leaving the facility.
Somewhere else inside D.E.O's facility, Clark, in his civilian disguise, is welcomed by another special agent of the organization, Cameron Chase. She presumes that he is here to continue the tour he began and Clark says that he was expecting Commander Trevor. Chase says that Trevor is on administrative leave at the moment. She also says that Director Bones strives for a greater level of transparency with the American public than their predecessor had. Clark asks her why they arrested an innocent super. Chase says this information is classified and asks him how does he know about it with Clark responding that his fiance's father was at the scene. While they are talking, Clark scans with his X-ray vision all the floors of the facility. They meet a group of men, looking like monks, whom Chase simply calls employees. They chant a song which, according to her, keeps evil forces out, but Clark adds that it must also help keep them in.
Faust and a giant monster attack the D.E.O.
Later Clark discovers a place called the Black Room, which is full of relics and magical objects. To his surprise he also finds some kind of big urn, inside of which Queen Hippolyta is being held in suspended animation. Clark then tells Diana that he found her mother. Suddenly, Faust along with a huge monster appear and the beast hits Clark with one of its tentacles.
Chapter Sixty-Five[]
Lois and Steve argue with General Lane about Diana's arrest.
In a parking lot, Lois argues with Steve Trevor and her father, General Lane, about Diana's arrest by D.E.O. Lois says they had no right to take her into custody but General replies that Diana is neither a citizen of the United States nor of anywhere else and they were only trying to prevent the things of getting out of control. Steve says that he actually does not know what has happened to Diana during all these years and Lois then says that she is a "Wonder Woman". The General ditches the conversation by saying that the world is changing too fast and that these super-powered beings have no one to represent them.
Bones learns about Faust's invasion in D.E.O.'s headquarters.
Meanwhile, in the headquarters of D.E.O., Bones is informed by Cameron Chase that they are under attack by a hostile force, who aim the monks, who are supposed to protect the facility. Bones realizes that Faust leads the attack and that he actually played him. Diana mocks him by saying that he should had never made any deals with the "devil" and Bones replies, before loading his gun and leaving the room, that they will resume their conversation shortly.
Faust explains the reason behind his attack.
Faust has invaded the facility and orders his men to attack the monks, with the clear intention of canceling its containment of magic. Clark then comes face to face with Faust, who explains that he is after the jewel on Hippolyta's tiara, which is supposed to be the "eye" of Hades. Faust says that the god Zeus, Hades' brother, and Hippolyta imprisoned Hades, with the gem being the only thing that can free him and that Hippolyta's reward, for her accomplishment, was Paradise Island. Faust is now trying to release him, so he can fulfill his part of the deal he, along with the rest of the Shadowpact members, made years ago, in exchange of gaining eternal youth.
Bones fires against Faust.
Suddenly, Bones shoots Faust, saying that he will not let him destroy the world, by unleashing Hades. Faust mocks him and tells him that Hades' challenge first cost him his skin, muscles, and now he is going to take away everything else. After which he proceeds to reflect the bullets back at Bones, seemingly killing him. Clark also gets hit and then Faust takes the gem from the tiara and throws it into the water. Suddenly an earthquake starts and a portal opens from which the God of death, Hades, emerges and says that he is glad to see the light of the stars again.
Clark asks for Diana's help to fight Hades.
Diana then appears and gives Faust a powerful punch, warning him to stay away from her mother. The punch seemingly breaks his neck but he immediately heals and vanishes before Clark can him with a heat vision blast. Clark and Diana collect the body of Hippolyta and Diana tries to awaken her but Clark asks her to help him in the fight. Diana seems not to be sure if she can help him at the time, but Clark tells her to find out soon and then changes into Superman in order to face Hades.
Chapter Sixty-Six[]
A S.W.A.T. team attacks Hades and Felix Faust at the Lincoln Memorial.
Hades along with Faust are walking towards Lincoln Memorial and Hades, seeing the Washington Monument, states is fascinating that through the ages have passed, man still aims to achieve godhood. Faust replies that advancements came with population growth and that humans continue to be legion. Suddenly a S.W.A.T. team arrives at the scene and orders them to surrender but Faust easily defeats them. Then Hades says he brought a legion of his own.
In Arlington National Cemetery, a guard notices a grave, that has being opened and suddenly an army of living corpses start to come out of their graves.
General Lane, Lois and Steve try to call for help, but communications fail.
Meanwhile General Lane along with Lois and Steve are inside his car and while he is driving, they are trying to communicate with someone else but Lois says that the phones are out and neither Steve or the General can communicate with D.E.O., the General's Unit or the President's office. Suddenly they see undead people having been unleashed all over the city with horrified citizens running away from them. General Lane tries to avoid the undead and comments on the communication problem by saying that an E.M.P. wasn't what caused all of this because the power is still on. Steve then, watching the zombies, blames Bones and his Black Room for the situation. Lois tries to communicate with Clark by whispering in chance of him listening to her with his super-hearing. Superman watching from above, freezes, with his artic breath, all the zombies that have surrounded the vehicle Lois is in, proving to her that he can hear her. He then tries to communicate with Watchtower, asking for back-up, but he fails.
Hades makes his move against Superman.
Back at Lincoln Memorial, a helicopter fires against Hades but he doesn't get hurt and asks Faust to deal with it. Faust transforms some of the S.W.A.T. team members into harpies and orders them to fly towards the helicopter, destroying it. Hades watches Superman, who is coming to fight him and recognizes him as the new champion of humankind but he also comments that this being isn't of this world or any other he knows and seeks to undo his work. Faust reveals to Hades that they call him "Superman" and he finds it very obvious. Hades says it's time to show to this champion what it really means to be a god and wishes to find out what he is made of. So he creates an enormous storm surrounding the Washington Monument and transforming it into a giant hand made of rock, which Martha Kent can even watch from her neighborhood, while she is taking her dog for a walk. Seeing that, a horrified Superman calls for back-up again.
Diana suits up for the fight.
Inside the Black Room, doctors try to examine Hippolyta but she refuses, saying sarcastically that they already have done quite enough for her. She then tells to Diana to leave together and return to Paradise island but Diana says as happy as she is to see her again, she cannot leave because her work here is not done. Hippolyta says she shouldn't concern herself about the affairs of this land but Diana replies that Hades has been unleashed and sooner or later his seeking of vengeance for the other gods will lead him to Paradise island, too. Hippolyta asks her what would she do to prevent this from happening and Diana says she will do what Hippolyta herself did once, she will fight. To underline her point, she dons her mother's armored costume.
Chapter Sixty-Seven[]
Superman reassures the President he is working on a solution.
At Washington D.C., a stone giant, Hades made out of the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial, causes terror while a group of harpies are heading to the plane in which President Martinez and his family are in. The President reassures his children that everything is going to be okay and one of the his assistants informs him about the situation while another tells him he sees something on the plane's wing. Suddenly a military aircraft fires against the harpy there is on the wing but more of them arrive and attack the aircrafts. Then Superman arrives and defeats the harpies. After that he communicates via Morse code with the pilot of one of the aircrafts, telling him to not engage with the creatures because they are actually humans who cannot control themselves. Then the pilot passes the message to the President. Superman also reassures them he is working on a solution and the President wonders why Superman is doing what the D.E.O. should be doing.
Diana saves Chase and prepares for battle.
At the D.E.O.'s headquarters, which is under siege, Cameron Chase tries to load her gun while a man is heading towards her. Diana takes out the man, with her lasso and defeats some more of Faust's other men. Chase then asks her who she is and Diana responds by saying they are going to find out.
Superman fights Hades.
Back at Washington soldiers try to defeat the undead and Superman attacks the stone giant. Unfortunately the giant knocks him down and Hades inspects him, saying that he is definitely not from this Earth and not quite one of the New Gods either. Superman answers he is just a man who tries to do the right thing and punches Hades, making him bleed and retorting that he is not an actual Deity either, but just another being from a different dimension, wanting to enslave humanity. Then Superman attacks him again but Hades manages to hit him first saying that he had once conquered the world and he can do it again but Superman says humanity didn't have him before. Hades proceeds to make the giant crush him beneath his foot. After that, Faust informs Hades that danger approaches and Hades says he will deal with Hippolyta like he dealt with the last supposed "Champion" of humanity but Faust tells him that it's not Hippolyta but rather her daughter. Then Hades says they must strive to assure their safety.
A harpy attacks General Lane's car.
Inside General Lane's car, a harpy attacks the vehicle and grabs Steve Trevor abducting him and leaving the General and Lois horrified.
Chapter Sixty-Eight[]
Diana confronts Hades.
Hades, having defeated Superman, is heading to the Lincoln Memorial and sits on the destroyed statue of Abraham Lincoln, using it as his throne, while Diana enters the scene to confront him. She is appalled by the use of the dead people in his schemes, but he says he gives them a purpose once again. Diana then retorts that they do not need purpose but peace. Hades then shows her that his harpies have captured Steve and threatens to turn him into one of the dead if she does not surrender to him, but Diana says that if they hurt him, she will drag Hades back into Tartarus, impaled on her sword. Hades is surprised that an Amazon defies one of her Gods for a man but Diana says she is fighting for all mankind. The mighty god mocks her by saying that although Hippolyta's blood runs in her veins, she can not stop him by herself. Suddenly, Superman resurfaces under the foot of the rock giant, throwing him down and saying Diana does not fight alone.
Superman and Diana fight against Hades' undead army.
Superman and Wonder Woman begin to fight against Hades' harpies, and during the fight, Diana explains to Clark that the only way to defeat Hades is to send him back to Tartarus, a hellish dimension where he was imprisoned by Hippolyta years ago, in order to keep the Olympian realms in balance. She also says that her mother in order to imprison Hades in the first place she had to kill the witch who served him, meaning that now they have to kill Faust. Superman says that is not going to happen and there is always another way, taking Hades and flying him into outer space.
Superman makes Hades surrender.
Before they go into space, Superman warns Hades that even if he is immortal he can throw him into deep space whenever he wants, to spend eternity wandering in the black cold endless void. Intimidated by Superman, Hades thinks about it and decides to finally surrender. Then Superman throws him back to Earth, inside a portal leading to Tartarus imprison him once again. Before the portal is closed, Diana catches Faust with her lasso and says to him that he will share the fate of his master, throwing him inside the portal as well. After the portal is closed, the stone giant collapses.
Clark, Diana and Steve wonder what will happen next.
Later Diana asks Clark what power did he use to subdue Hades and Clark responds by saying he used only words. Then Diana hugs Steve, feeling happy he is safe and the city is no longer in danger. But Steve wonders what will happen now with the heroes and how will the government and the army react.
Chapter Sixty-Nine[]
The President talks about the new heroes.
President Martinez leads the world with a message of reconciliation. He says that after the events of the "Contact" and Hades' attack hours ago, the world must accept now the unnatural disasters that have occurred, but also embrace a new generation of heroes like Metropolis' Man of Steel and the capital's very own Wonder Woman. The president also informs the public that thanks to Queen Industries, a recovery and repair fund is being established to help cities like Washington recover.
Clark asks Diana if she will stay or return to her home island.
Meanwhile Clark and Diana talk about the future. Clark says he is not prepared to be regarded almost as a god, something that is more accustomed to Diana, who is descended from trans-dimensional Greek god-beings. Clark tells her that in the coming weeks one of his associates will be setting up a hub for his team's Watchtower network in DC and it can be made available to her if she decides to stay. Diana says that after much discussion with her mother she decided to stay not only as an ambassador for Themyscira but also to show the world that her people should not be feared but embraced and prove that it is possible make a difference, when fighting for truth and justice. Clark asks her if she will see Steve again and Diana responds by saying she believes she shall see more of this "boy".
Diana says goodbye to her mother and reveals that she joined D.E.O.
Later at Andrews A.F.B., General Lane accompanies Queen Hippolyta to the plane, that will transport her back to Paradise Island. Hippolyta asks Lt. Candy, who will be the pilot of the plane, to assure her that no one will follow them and Candy tells her that they will not be followed or tracked because the plane is practically invisible so they will barely even seen. Then General Lane assures her that she is in good hands because Candy is a very good pilot. Before she leaves Hippolyta says goodbye to her daughter, who is now an agent of D.E.O. After Hippolyta's departure, the new director of D.E.O. Steve Trevor, calls all his agents, including Diana, saying they have a world to protect. Steve then asks her if she is ready and she responds "are you?".
Clark and Martha talk about Clark making a choice.
Meanwhile Clark and Martha walk through Washington talking about the first time that Clark visited the city as a child. Jonathan wanted him to understand that power comes with responsibility, and Clark seems to understand it very well now. In fact, he confesses to his mother that he will take a big step in trying to mediate the rejection of the unknown that is brewing in the country but he is not sure what he must do to turn the tide. Martha tells him that he is already doing very well into inspiring hope. Clark says it's time to inspire change too. Martha then says if he feels in his heart that it is the right thing to do, then he already has his answer.
Clark and Lois savor their final moments before Clark's big revelation.
Later, Superman repairs the Washington Monument in front of thousands of people who admire him, and after changing to his civilian persona he goes to find Lois, who is very proud of him, in the crowd. They both know that tomorrow the world will be a different place, so they savor these moments by kissing.
Superman reveals to the President that he is an alien.
The same night, Superman visits the White House to meet with President Martinez. He apologizes for waking him up but he says that they need to talk. The President thanks him for saving his life and then properly introduces himself saying that he can call him "Thomas" to which Superman replies that he can call him "Kal-El", of Krypton and he's an alien.

- In the Greek mythology Olympus is the mountain where the twelve Olympian Deities used to live.
- The Greek mythology that brought us Olympus is also the root of Wonder Woman's story, such as being brought to life by Zeus and Hera.
- Olympus relates to pantheon of Greek Deities. These deities are heavily involved in Wonder Woman's mythos, typically acting as supporting characters and/or antagonists. With each interpretation or take on Diana, the Deities of Olympus are known to play a hand in her birth. The most famous of her origin stories states that she was originally created of clay after her mother, Queen Hippolyta, prayed to the deities for a child. It has also been stated that the goddesses as well as Hermes blessed her soul as a child with powers beyond those of the other Amazons. In the New 52, Zeus, the leader of the Olympian Deities, is revealed to be her father, making Diana a demigoddess.
- Olympus is also the code-name for the White House.

- According to Bryan Q. Miller, the young Amazon that fights with Diana is the DC comic character Artemis who is also an Amazon.[5]
- The "Marston Home for Wayward Girls" is a nod to the creator of Wonder Woman, William Moulton Marston.
- Dr. Thirteen is mentioned in this story arc, working for D.E.O. In the comics Dr. Terry Thirteen is an occult investigator whose primary function was to debunk rumours of supernatural activity. He is also the father of the sorceress Traci Thirteen.
- Inside the Black Room there is a skeleton resembling the creature known as Starro.
- A case inside of the Black Room contains a male figure, who is seemingly impaled through the chest. It is unknown if this is supposed to be the remains of Davis Bloome.
- Hades mentions the New Gods, who in the comics, are a race living on the twin planets of New Genesis and Apokolips. Some of them are Darkseid, Orion, Mr Miracle and Highfather.
- The invisible plane that transports Queen Hippolyta back to Paradise Island is a nod to Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet from the comics.
