Geoff Johns was a college football star at Metropolis University known as the "Teflon Tailback" and a metahuman with the ability to paralyze others simply by touching them.
Powers and Abilities
- Paralysis Inducement: Geoff had the metahuman power to paralyze others simply by touching them. He could control the degree of paralysis, from a few seconds to much longer. This power apparently affects only the motor nerves, leaving autonomic functions like breathing and heartbeat still functional.
Season Four
Geoff was able to avoid using his powers while playing for the Smallville Crows, but college football was more competitive and he started using his powers. Geoff found himself under more intense scrutiny at Met U and started paying other students for urine samples to hide his secret. When his fellow player Coop found out, Geoff killed him.
Geoff returned to Smallville to recruit Clark to come to Met U to play for the team, but Clark quickly realized Geoff was hiding something. He paralyzed and kidnapped Lois Lane and tried to kill her by drowning her in the sewers, but was stopped by Clark Kent.

- Geoff Johns is presumably named after the DC Comics writer of the same name. Johns is well known for writing titles like Green Lantern, JSA and co-writing the miniseries 52, as well as Action Comics for DC Comics. He has written the Season Eight episode, Legion, about the Legion of Super-Heroes, and the Season Nine episodes, Absolute Justice, Part 1 and Absolute Justice, Part 2, about the Justice Society of America. He also wrote the season ten episode Booster
- Chris Carmack (Geoff) also played the part of Luke Ward in The O.C.. He is the second of three O.C. alumni to appear on Smallville. The first was Adam Brody (Justin Gaines) and the third is Michael Cassidy (Grant Gabriel).
- Chris Carmack (Geoff) also stared alongside Smallville's Laura Vandervoort (Kara) in the direct-to-DVD sequel Into the Blue 2: The Reef.
