- "Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Who knew?"
- "I did." - Lois and Clark regarding their romantic relationship.
The relationship between Clark Kent and Lois Lane has developed slowly over the years from bickering friends, dynamic partners and ultimately romantic lovers. Their relationship is also called "Clois" by fans.
Their destined relationship began when they met at the beginning of his senior year of high school when Lois found Clark lying naked in the middle of Miller's Field. They often bickered but despite these disputes, Lois and Clark have been shown to care a lot about each other. They gradually fell in love over the course of the series.
Even while the two were just friends, more than one person has commented on their chemistry over the course of their friendship. When Oliver Queen began a romantic relationship with Lois, he half-jokingly commented that Clark masked his feelings for Lois with sarcasm due to the two of them living under the same roof for so long. Jimmy Olsen set them up for a date on Valentine's Day on the grounds that they had chemistry, yet Lois remained unconvinced, describing their potential relationship as hot fudge and halibut. A mystic named Star later cryptically told Jimmy that she had a feeling that Lois and Clark's destinies were more intertwined than anyone realized. Then there was Maxima who had come to Earth to pursue a relationship with Clark, but her attempts failed when Lois caught her and Clark together, breaking her hold on him. Maxima told Lois that Clark would have never been able to break through her hold had it not been for his feelings for Lois. Lois also demonstrated a certain attraction for Clark on the three occasions where she witnessed him openly using his powers, although she always forgot what she saw in the aftermath, but came to appreciate him as a person after they started working together in the Daily Planet, until Clark felt ready to tell her his secret himself.
Lois's role in Clark's life is crucial, as she provides him with an "anchor" to his humanity, allowing him to forge and sustain bonds with people and keep him human at heart so that she is able to "ground" him. It is also Lois's fierce belief and determination in Clark that helps him to embrace his destiny to become a hero.

After Chloe's alleged death, her cousin, Lois Lane, went to Smallville to investigate. Knowing that Chloe had a close relationship with Clark Kent, Lois went in search of Clark for answers. Coincidentally, Lois encountered Clark when he was returned as Kal-El, after being reprogrammed by Jor-El. Clark was disoriented, naked, as well as suffering from amnesia, so Lois came to his aid and took him to the Smallville Medical Center. As there was no known family to look after Clark, the receptionist assigned Lois to watch over Clark until he could be identified. Lois clearly found this responsibility a nuisance but reluctantly obliged.
Once Lois discovered that he was in fact Clark Kent, she was keen to get to know him better to help with her investigation. However, Martha Kent was keen to keep them apart while he was under the influence of his Kryptonian persona. After Clark returned to normal, Clark offered to help Lois uncover Chloe's death and suggested she stay at his house while she was in town. Lois and Clark's personalities wildly clashed during her stay, as she had little respect for his privacy and even barged in on him in the shower, much to his shock. As soon as they began their investigation and even after finding Chloe alive, they continued to argue and trade insults. However, when Lois revealed that her mother had died when she was little, Clark sympathized with Lois.
Clark was less than thrilled when he discovered that Lois would be staying in Smallville for a while longer, as she had failed her last semester of high school and had to finish at Smallville High. Lois was also desperate to leave and helped Clark and Chloe write articles for the Smallville Torch for extra credit. Early in the year, she dunked Clark in the school dunk tank. Eventually, Clark asked Lex for a favor and he got Lois enrolled in Metropolis University and out of Clark's hair.
Lois was kicked out of the University shortly after and relied on Clark to let her stay at the Kent Farm again. Lois wound up staying in Clark's bedroom for the remainder of the school year while Clark slept on the couch. Although they usually fought, they sometimes had moments of friendship as Lois tried to adjust to small town life and the strange goings-on in Smallville. Lois threw a party for Chloe's eighteenth birthday in Clark's barn. Although Clark warned Lois that he had someone coming from Princeton University to interview him, Lois showed no concern and went ahead with the party plans anyway. Lois also showed that she was not impressed with Clark's choice of girlfriend, when he started a relationship with ex-mental patient, Alicia Baker.Clark and Lois' relationship gradually turned to friendship when they needed each other for support. When Alicia died, Lois offered Clark her condolences and felt sorry for Clark. Having discovered that the murderer was Tim Westcott, she confided in Clark but he was so consumed with grief and rage that Clark almost killed him. Lois was able to reach out to Clark and calm him down. When Lois's little sister Lucy ran away, Lois confided in Clark that she felt guilty about how Lucy had turned out and Clark tried to reassure her that she was a good big sister. Lois then thanked Clark for his help and gave him a compliment saying "you're amazing smallville..you still find the best in people even when they walk all over you" and Clark smiled and said "I guess that explains why we're friends"..This drew Clark and Lois closer as they admitted to being secret friends, at that moment two stars collided, foreshadowing their relationship.
Despite getting closer, their bickering continued. Lois hit a dog and brought him to the Kent farm. Even though Lois was highly allergic, Clark decided to keep him. In retaliation, Lois suggested they name the dog 'Clarkie' on the grounds that he was annoying and she couldn't come within ten feet of him without feeling sick. Clark was surprised when Lois suggested that she accompany him to the Senior Prom. Seeing how beautiful she looked in her prom dress, Clark agreed. However, he later discovered that Lois was possessed by the spirit of Dawn Stiles and once Lois was exorcised of her, Lois was not impressed that she was Clark's date. Clark attempted to have a dance with Lois but she politely declined saying "thanks but I'm not the one you wanna dance with, she is" pointing at Lana Lang arriving at the dance.
The day Clark graduated from high school, Clark didn't even try to conceal his delight when Lois announced that she and her father were leaving town to locate her sister. She started to give him a compliment about graduating high school but couldn't resist the opportunity to tease him one last time.

- "Well that's what I'm here for, Smallville. One save at a time." -- Clark and Lois, Oracle
The second meteor shower interrupted Lois' plans to leave and instead, she met up with Clark again at the hospital. Clark thanked Lois for being there for his parents while he was trying to save Smallville. Lois was nearly drowned, but Arthur Curry manage to saved her. Lois quickly developed feelings for him. However, Clark remained suspicious of AC, as he exhibited metahuman powers in the water. Lois thought that Clark was jealous and got angry with Clark. After the confusion was set straight, Arthur left and Lois and Clark reconciled. Clark comforted Lois as she began to wonder if she would ever find the right guy.
Acting independently of each other, Clark and Lois went undercover to investigate the murder of a stripper that was connected with Jonathan's friend, Senator Jack Jennings. Clark was surprised to see Lois posing as a stripper to infiltrate the club. He was clearly embarrassed and uncomfortable to see Lois like this, although Clark's eyes seemed drawn to the scantily-clad Lois. The investigation led to Lois being kidnapped by Mr. Lyon, but Clark super-sped to the rescue. Lois appreciated Clark's help, although she found it difficult to thank him. On that occasion, she described him as "a really good friend." Clark saved Lois again when Michael Westmore almost stabbed her.
Lois seemed insulted when Graham Garrett suggested that she was Clark's girlfriend. She then started a relationship with Graham, but when Clark discovered that he was a serial killer, Clark warned Lois away from him. Suspecting that Clark was jealous again, Lois got angry with Clark until Chloe revealed the truth about Graham. Lois then realized that Clark only had her best interests at heart and helped save him from Graham, who had discovered Clark's weakness to kryptonite.
After Lois moved out and got an apartment of her own, Clark and Lois became better friends, as they had more space between each other. They had thoughtful conversations about their shared uncertainty of their own futures. Lois believed that Clark kept his feelings bottled up, so she gave him a diary for his nineteenth birthday. She even gave him advice after he broke up with Lana, suggesting that maybe Lana wasn't everything Clark had been hoping for in a relationship after all. She offered him further advice, which made Clark realize that perhaps Lois understands him better than anyone.

Following Lois' injury in a plane crash, Clark visited her at the hospital where Lois confided in him about her experience. After he told her that he was glad she was all right and affectionately touching her hand, both of them noticed that they were becoming closer. This moment was then abruptly interrupted, becoming awkward and reverting them to their usual banter.
After Oliver Queen came to Smallville and he and Lois started a relationship, Oliver suggested that Clark was a bit jealous and possibly had feelings for Lois that he himself wasn't aware of. When Oliver turned out to be a good guy, Clark told him that if he continued to keep his identity as Green Arrow a secret from Lois, their relationship was doomed to fail, having learned this the hard way from his relationship with Lana Lang. Soon, Lois began to rightly suspect that Oliver was the Green Arrow and enlisted Clark's help to prove it. Instead, Clark dressed up as the Green Arrow to help Oliver keep his identity secret. Believing that it was Oliver, Lois kissed the Green Arrow, unaware that it was actually Clark. After Oliver appeared next to the costumed Clark, Lois slapped Clark and he sped away. When he took off his disguise, he was surprised at Lois' actions, but also visibly pleased. Lois later declared the Green Arrow (Clark) a fabulous kisser, even better than Oliver.
On Valentine's Day, Jimmy Olsen attempted to set Lois and Clark up on a date, reasoning that the two of them had chemistry, but after they were left alone, Lois and Clark parted company. Nevertheless, Lois then tried a red kryptonite lipstick and became infatuated with Clark. While Clark seemed into it but as well felt uncomfortable with Lois' advances, she continued to pursue him aggressively. Once Lois was finally able to pin Clark down and kiss him, the lipstick infected him as well, enabling Clark to gladly reciprocate her feelings.
This kiss also caused Lois to recognize as the Green Arrow from their earlier embrace, but he explained that he was only covering for Oliver. Under the influence of red kryptonite, Clark revealed his powers to Lois and took her on a moonlit leap from the Daily Planet rooftop to Queen Tower. At Oliver's home, Clark and Lois became very intimate, ripping off each other's clothing, until Clark became distracted by Lois' invitation to Lex and Lana's engagement party. They then crashed the party where he left Lois to kidnap Lana. Lois was upset until Jimmy sprayed her with the antidote and she went back to herself. She was left with no recollection of what had happened and was surprised to discover that she had a "Lois and Clark Forever" tattoo on her cleavage, which fortunately was only temporary. She approached Clark to discover what he remembered from their escapades, nervous that they might have slept together, which they had not. Clark teased Lois about her infected behavior until she discovered a Whitesnake CD she had given him, prompting her to comment that " I must really have liked you to give you that CD". This caused them to become uncomfortable, but the awkward tension between them quickly left.

Lois went to the Luthor Mansion to find evidence of Lex's secret experiments at Reeves Dam even though Clark warned her not to go. He was clearly concerned for Lois' safety, as she made it her mission to go up against the Luthors. While at the mansion, Lois came across Clark's doppelganger, Bizarro. Attracted to her, Bizarro hit on her, which she did not appreciate. She slapped him and later, believing that it had been Clark, reprimanded Clark for it.
When Clark told Lois that he was going to leave Smallville, she was clearly upset, although she covered up her feelings by making it seem that she only wanted him around to harass. Clark decided to stay, but he and Lois spent some time apart, as he was busy looking after his newly arrived Kryptonian cousin, Kara, as well as his renewed relationship with Lana. Meanwhile, Lois was busy with her job at the Daily Planet and her new relationship with the editor, Grant Gabriel.
When Lois' relationship with Grant fell apart and her subsequent attempt to reignite her relationship with Oliver failed, Clark comforted Lois. She clearly appreciated this and the two of them embraced. She tried to return the favor when he was grieving for Lana after she was attacked by Brainiac. Lois was saddened that she wasn't able to help Clark more and reverted to a 'buddy' relationship by taking him for a drink. Lois was keen to help Clark apply for an internship at the Daily Planet, indicating their growing relationship.
Once Lana recovered, she quickly made a decision to leave Smallville and left Clark a video explaining her decision, as well as ending her relationship with him. Lois walked in as Clark was watching it and offered him a comforting hug and he appreciated her support.

In 2008, when Clark visited an alternate reality in which he never came to Earth, he rescued Lois - a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist - when she was abducted by the Department of Domestic Security. Lois appreciated his help and was impressed by his superpowers. Despite lacking any knowledge of Clark as a person, she trusted him and offered him help to find out what Lex Luthor and Milton Fine were up to.

- "You have a deep connection to him, I felt it. He would never have been able to pull away from me ,if he wasn't drawn by his attraction to you. - "Flirtation 101 Lane, that's what a guy does when he's into a girl. Com'on! I've seen the way you two look at each other, trust me Lois and Clark would be great together..I feel it in my gut." -- Jimmy Olsen to Lois Lane, Bride
Following Clark's return after he temporarily lost his powers during the collapse of the Fortress of Solitude, he bumped into Lois while they searched for Chloe at Black Creek. Lois seemed pleased to see him, although surprised, as he had been missing for several weeks. They greeted each other with their usual banter and once they had rescued Chloe, Clark took up Lois's earlier suggestion to work at the Daily Planet. Lois was surprised at Clark's change of heart but seemed pleased that Clark would be working at the desk opposite hers, although she kept her feelings hidden from Clark.
Lois greeted Clark on his first day and took him under her wing to teach him all she knew about journalism. She gave him one of her colleagues' spare suits to borrow and seemed attracted to his new, smarter look. They began to work on stories together and they seemed to appreciate each other's help.
When Maxima, a super powered alien queen with mind-altering powers, came on to Clark, he was unable to resist her endorphin kiss. Lois walked in on Maxima and Clark making out in the elevator and was noticeably shocked and upset by what she had seen. Seeing Lois, Maxima's spell over Clark was broken and he rushed after Lois, although she claimed to not care about Clark's love life and quickly rushed off. Perceiving Lois as a threat and jealous of Lois's connection with Clark, Maxima went after Lois with intention to kill her. Lois denied any bond between her and Clark, but Maxima explained that a bond between them was the only way Clark was able to resist her influence. Lois was surprised by this and prepared to defend herself against Maxima's attack, but Clark arrived in time to save Lois by super speeding away with Maxima. Once Clark had returned Maxima to her home planet, Almerac, he discussed with Lois what had happened. Maxima had made Clark think about soul mates and he wondered aloud to Lois if he would recognize his soul mate. Lois assured him that he would know when the right woman came along, but remained secretive regarding what Maxima had said to her. Clark then offered Lois her old room back at the farm, but she declined.
Lois got drunk at Chloe and Jimmy's engagement party and Clark took her to the Kent Farm to make sure she was safe. Lois awoke on the sofa wearing Clark's red football jersey and was nervous that they might have slept together. Clark quickly put her mind at rest and then drove Lois back to her apartment. When they arrived Lois listened to an answering machine message that she had drunkenly left, talking about how cute Clark was and how he is the one who come to her rescue not Oliver. Lois was clearly embarrassed but claimed it was just the alcohol talking. Surprised that Chloe and Jimmy had not returned to their apartment yet, Clark and Lois began to investigate the situation, discovering that several engaged couples had been recently kidnapped.
Lois and Clark posed as a couple in various shops to try to lure out the kidnapper. Clark was reluctant to do this, while Lois seemed to enjoy it. The situation became a bit awkward, however, when Oliver stumbled into their jewelry shop and they continued to pretend to be engaged. Their plan backfired when Lois was kidnapped and Clark was weakened by the kidnapper's kryptonite bracelet. With both Lois and Clark tied up in electric chairs and wired to a lie detector. The kidnapper, Macy, begin to ask them questions. Lois tried to explain that they were not even a couple, but Macy continued his game, asking her if she loves Clark. Wanting to spare Clark the pain of another electric shock, but keen to keep her feelings hidden, Lois hesitated. Clark encouraged her to tell the truth and was surprised to hear Lois admit that she did love him. This registered as the truth and Clark was then asked the same question. Before he was made to answer, Clark overpowered Macy and escaped with Lois. After this, Lois was clearly embarrassed and keen to avoid Clark. When Clark caught her in the elevator, he broke the tension and eased her obvious discomfort by saying she was able to trick the lie detector. With quick thinking and a quick tongue, Lois took advantage of this, saying she had slipped the sensor off her finger, leaving Clark to wonder about Lois's true feelings, as well about his own feelings had he answered that same question.
Clark was surprised when Lois set up a date with Sebastian Kane, a new colleague of theirs. While she was preparing for the date, Clark helped her zip up her dress, which he seemed to enjoy. She later confessed that it was not really a date, as she was investigating him for his meteor infection. When this put her in trouble, Clark prioritized saving Lois over concealing his identity and she was amazed when the Blur saved her. She then told Clark that she would track her hero down, not realizing that it was in fact Clark.
Lois, later, decided to move out of the Talon apartment and accepted Clark's offer to live with him at the farm. However, Clark was clearly nervous about this and tried to discourage her. Being so close to Lois soon led to trouble when the reprogrammed Crystal of Knowledge sent Lois and Clark to the Phantom Zone. Lois was frightened to discover that she was in an alien dimension and relied on Clark for comfort. He reassured her that " No one messes with Lois and Clark ". Clark was very protective of Lois and when they stumbled upon Kara, they hatched a plan to open the portal to send Lois home. When Clark and Kara also escaped, Kara suggested that he should tell Lois his secret, as she thought Lois could handle it. Kara reassured Clark that he obviously thought so too otherwise he wouldn't have let her get so close. Nevertheless, seeing the danger that he had put Lois in, he decided against it. Lois was left believing that she just had a very lucid dream. Clark decided to let Lois stay at the farm, but she changed her mind about moving in when Tess Mercer gave her a raise and she could afford a place on her own.During Chloe and Jimmy's pre-wedding preparations, Lois spoke to Jimmy. Having previously tried to get Clark and Lois together, he maintained that she and Clark could have something amazing. Lois seemed reluctant to admit this, but remained thoughtful. Lois and Clark then admired each other's formal attire and when Clark read out Jimmy's wedding speech notes, Lois thought that Clark was revealing his true feelings for her, she was surprised and disappointed to see that this was not the case. They continued to share flirty moments during the wedding leading to a slow-dance. The romantic tension quickly escalated and during the dance they almost kiss, before They were interrupted by Lana's arrival, leaving Lois upset and disappointed.
Lois confessed to Oliver Queen that she was confused by her feelings for someone and feared that she had misjudged the situation. However, she continued to explain that there had been moments when she could not deny her attraction to this person and she had never felt this way about anyone before and thought that this person needed her. Correctly deducing that Lois was referring to Clark, Oliver assured her that Clark needed her, which pleased Lois. Unfortunately, Doomsday's disaster during the reception along with Lana's return both created obstacles in her relationship with Clark.
Lois spent some time away from Smallville and when she returned, she was disappointed to find that Clark was three hours late picking her up at the airport. Keeping his heroic duties a secret, he was unable to explain his delay. Nevertheless, shortly after wards Linda Lake encouraged Clark to expose his true identity after she attempted to blackmail him. Clark chose to ask Lois to write his story. Although she didn't believe him at first, once Clark demonstrated his powers, Lois was clearly impressed. She assumed that she was the first to know and was disappointed when Clark admitted that Lana and Chloe had known for years.
Lois' article made everyone in Metropolis look up to Clark, until Linda convinced people that Clark was an alien invader. Chaos ensued and Lois, trusting Clark implicitly, vowed to clear his name. Clark came up with his own plan to put a stop to the situation and wanted to use the Legion ring to go back in time to 2 days before he revealed his secret. Lois was disappointed to realize that Clark would not tell her his secret again, thinking that she was not special. Clark reassure her that it is because she was special and he want to protect her.
In the new time line, Clark made it a point to pick Lois up at the airport. Lois gave Clark a chance to talk about the 'almost kiss' that happened at the wedding, but Clark said that would be a very complicated conversation. Lois tried to remain casual and told Clark that she would be at the cafe later and if he decided to come that would be cool. Clark went to the coffee shop and saw Lois waiting, but instead of meeting her, he sent a text from across the street with the excuse that he was held up at work. Lois looked disappointed, she replied that she could not make it either.
When Chloe was made to look like Lois due to a magic spell, she went to the Daily Planet to assume Lois' life. Believing Chloe to be Lois, Clark revealed that Lois had called him six times that day, while he hadn't spoken to Chloe once on her birthday. Chloe quickly noticed how Clark was treating her differently as Lois and once she was returned to normal, they discussed his changing relationship with Lois. Clark said things between them had been a bit uneasy but Chloe believed he was interested in Lois and encouraged them to work things out. However, Lois announced she was going on a date with a guy she had met during a trip and Clark seemed a bit crestfallen that she didn't want to spend time with him. Lois, remembering that Clark stood her up at the coffee shop, declared that it would be easier if they just remained coworkers, although she seemed pleased that Clark had kept her rules of reporting from when he started working at the Daily Planet.
As a ploy to get the Red-Blue Blur out of hiding, Lois became a superhero known as Stiletto. When Clark met her in her disguise, he knew instantly it was Lois. She was angry that he could see through her disguise and showed resentment that he had stood her up that night at the cafe. Lois ended up saving Clark from a mobster who was about to shoot him. Nevertheless, when Clark found Lois in danger, he took a bullet for her, despite being weakened by kryptonite. Lois was clearly concerned for Clark and upset that her irresponsible plan had put him in danger, although it worked, as later that same night, Lois received a Phone call from the "Red-Blue-Blur." She offered to talk anytime and he told Lois she would be the first to know his secret when he was ready to reveal himself to the Earth. Lois was pleased with this, while Clark's trust in Lois seemed to grow. Lois in turn seemed to have gone softer on Clark forgoing past misgivings as he had taken a bullet for her. Clark now encountered a different side to Lois, as he related to her as the Red Blue Blur.
When Clark discovered that he would die the next day fighting Doomsday, he wrote a letter as the Red-Blue Blur to say his goodbyes to the citizens of Metropolis. Lois arrived as he was finishing this to express her disappointment that he was not helping to find Chloe. When she went to look at his computer screen and he shut it down, she became angry with him, frustrated by his secretiveness. He then called Lois as The Red-Blue Blur to ask her to publish the letter if something were to happen to him. She was shocked that he could die and was clearly concerned for his safety. She then arranged to meet him by a phone booth, but before she could get there, she was accidentally sent to the future via the legion ring.
During Doomsday's attack, Clark went to the phone booth and was shocked to see that she wasn't there. Clark was nervous that she had been hurt by Doomsday and after Doomsday was defeated, Clark searched for Lois. When this proved unsuccessful, he confided in Chloe that there seemed no hope of finding Lois. He was clearly upset by this, which aided his decision to turn his back on his human persona.

Although Clark turned his back on his humanity after Jimmy's death and Lois's mysterious disappearance, he remained distracted by the return of Lois during his training with Jor-El, showing that Clark's feelings for her had become romantic. Clark was told by Jor-El to say goodbye to Lois so he could focus on his training but he couldn't,instead he kept reaching out to her as The Blur. However, Clark found that Lois was in danger by a mysterious woman from the future who was gunning after her, Alia. He made it his mission to protect her and look over her, which Alia had predicted he would do, which was why she had targeted Lois in the first place. This made it clear that Lois and Clark's futures were significantly entwined.
When Lois returned to work, she was sad to discover that Clark had taken a leave of absence, as she missed him. She even seemed excited when she heard Clark's chair creaking, believing it to be him, trying to annoy her as he had done the year before. It turned out that the creaking was done by John Corben, a new reporter. As the Blur, Clark continued to keep in contact with Lois via the phone. This was the start of a connection between Lois and Clark as the Blur, making him slowly realize that he needed her. However, this endangered Lois' life, as he requested her help to stop Corben after he had been turned into a cyborg known as Metallo. Once she was kidnapped, Clark once again came to Lois's rescue. After defeating Metallo, Clark tended to an unconscious Lois, stroking her brow with affection. When she woke up, she saw the Blur standing in the distance concealing his face in the shadows. While she was overjoyed to see him, she was desperate for the Blur to reveal his face and was disappointed when he super-sped away,
The next morning, Clark restarted his job at the Daily Planet and Lois was thrilled to see him. She ran into his arms, telling him how glad she was that he was back, but she quickly became embarrassed and backed away. Clark then leaned toward her and whispered that he missed her too. The Blur seemed to come in between Lois and Clark, as Clark began to suspect that Lois wanted to be in a relationship with the Blur, which Lois denied. Meanwhile, Lois remained oblivious to the fact that Clark was leading a double life as the Blur.
Lois and Clark found themselves investigating a zombie threat. Lois soon had to defend herself against the entire staff of the Daily Planet that had been transformed into zombies. When Clark eventually arrived, he was keen to protect Lois, although she was skeptical that Clark could defend them. They fought off the zombies together, although Clark was torn between maintaining his secret and protecting Lois. As a result, Lois was bitten by one zombie. In a safe location Lois and Clark shared a tender moment where Lois, unsure of their chances of survival, decided to share one of her deepest secrets that her involvement with the Blur was not just for the greater good but also for selfish reasons, but she felt an intimate connection with him that she had never experienced before which made her not want to be alone again. Clark was very touched by Lois's feelings but failed to tell her his secret when she asked him if he had anything he would like to share. As the threat worsened, Clark rushed off to Chloe to attempt to fix the situation. Clark left Lois in Oliver's care, instructing him to make sure that she did not fall asleep and allow the infection to take effect. However, Oliver, feeling threatened by Clark and Lois's seemingly blooming relationship, chose that moment to discuss his feelings for her. As Oliver let his guard down, Lois fell asleep and completed the transformation into a zombie. Clark was horrified to discover this and unwilling to inflict any harm onto Lois, he tried to reason with her. Unaware of her actions, a zombified Lois attacked Clark and pushed Clark into the street. Clark grabbed Lois and held her firmly until the antidote came down as rain and cured her. Relieved to have survived their ordeal together, Lois and Clark shared a romantic embrace in the rain. Later, Lois paid Clark a visit at the Kent farm to thank him for being there for her, stating that she had seen a new side to him, that of a hero. She also said that while he never did tell her his secret, she would find out eventually.
When Jor-El temporarily gave Clark the power of telepathy, he was able to hear Lois's thoughts and was pleased to hear about her deep attraction to him. Encouraged by her feelings for him, Clark invited Lois on a date. However, due to Toyman's threat to blow up the Ace of Clubs, Clark was unable to make his date with Lois. She misunderstood Clark's intentions and believed that Clark was chasing a story without her rather than standing her up again so followed him. Trying to keep Lois safe, Clark pretended he was only interested in the story, much to Lois's dismay.
In an effort to make amends about his dishonesty, Clark shared the byline with Lois after asking her help to finish the article. Clark apologized for letting her down and Lois accepted his apology. Clark inquired how he might get a second date after messing up to which Lois told him, hypothetically speaking, to wait for a slower news day. Clark assured her that hypothetically speaking, he would get it right the next time. Their relationship was strained when Lois accidentally discovered that Oliver had attempted suicide. She harshly reprimanded him, as she still cared for her former lover.Fearing that she would have nothing to fall back on should newspapers have no importance in the future, Lois auditioned to be the host of "Good Morning Metropolis" and took Clark along. They were surprised when the producers offered them both the job due to their amazing chemistry. For their first assignment, they were sent on blind dates. Lois was jealous of Clark's date, Catherine Grant. Lois's date then turned out to be Oliver and Clark was visibly hurt at the thought that there may still be something between them. Their relationship took a romantic turn when Clark confronted his love for Lois and they shared a passionate kiss. Overwhelmed by the prospect of a relationship with Clark, Lois left town for 2 weeks. On her return, she was more open to starting a relationship again. Troubled by her recurring images of her and Clark in a romantic embrace, Lois went to a therapist to discuss her feelings for Clark. Her therapist was concerned that she may have stronger feelings for the Blur than for Clark, but Lois was disappointed with the Blur's lack of contact with her and his recent botched rescues, which were actually the work of Zan and Jayna, the Wonder Twins. Clark eventually called Lois as the Blur in order to try to defend himself, but this backfired when Zan accidentally turned off the scrambler to reveal Clark's voice to Lois, who was shocked to discover Clark's secret.
Lois at first tried to get Clark to confide in her, telling him the two should get to know each other more, though Clark was obviously reluctant, pointing out that they're already so close that she tells him the color of her underwear every day. Despite Lois hinting that she knew the truth, Clark denied it and Chloe helped Clark hide his identity by phoning Lois as the Blur while she was with Clark. Confused, she admitted to her therapist that she was silly to believe that Clark was the Blur. At the Daily Planet, Clark asked Lois to meet him in the copy room. Clark confirmed to her that he had in fact been keeping a secret from her and revealed to her that he needed to wear glasses. Lois told him that they were "very Clark Kent." She apologized for assuming that he was the Blur. Lois teased Clark by recommending contact lenses and that she'd only call him "four-eyes" once in a while. She started to walk away but turned back, initiating a long kiss with Clark. This concluded with Lois having a flash of her recurring vivid dream and collapsing in Clark's arms.Clark then took Lois to the hospital but was concerned when she disappeared. Clark found her at Belle Reve hooked up to Project Intercept. While trying to disconnect her from the machine, he accidentally pierced himself with one of the electrodes. With their minds in sync, Clark was able to see Lois' memories of the alternate future, which she had experienced during her absence due to the Legion ring. In these memories, Clark saw himself make love to Lois. After these memories were erased from Lois's mind and she awoke from her coma, Clark finally asked Lois about the status of their relationship. With some ground rules from Lois, they decided to become a couple.
Lois and Clark went to the Daily Planet's Wishing Well Foundation Gala. As they left, they talked about the fact it was their first personal outing as a couple. Clark suggested they go back to the farm and she jokingly turned him down, but Clark leaned forward and kissed her. Lois insisted that they slow down in order to get their relationship right. Clark then had to leave her to stop a robbery, leaving her vulnerable to an attack by the Dark Archer. This resulted in her being admitted to hospital and receiving a visit from Zod. Clark, concerned for Lois, visited her in hospital and arranged a date. Later, Lois met Clark for their date and noted that she had had to take a cab from the hospital. Clark apologized and Lois showed him the charm that Clark's friend gave her. When she mentioned Zod's name, Clark was concerned for Lois's safety.
Lois uncovered a team of vigilantes from the past known as the Justice Society of America and met Doctor Fate who revealed her fate as the key to Clark's destiny, although he named Clark as "the Savior" rather than using his name. At the Planet, Lois showed Clark her front page article about the JSA and noted that he could have had a byline with her if he hadn't disappeared. Lois mentioned what Dr. Fate said about her destiny and Clark asked her if she believed in fate, to which she replied that she believed in the fate you made happen.
Lois was assigned to cover Metropolis's annual WonderCon but changed her mind about what costume she would wear and asked Clark to pick up a new outfit from her apartment on his way to the convention. Clark arrived but Zatanna interrupted his conversation with Lois. As Clark and Zatanna headed off, Lois was clearly jealous, but when a rare comic-book was stolen at the convention, they agreed to split up to cover more ground in finding it. While investigating, Zatanna tried to seduce Clark only to discover his feelings for Lois were stronger than her magic. Clark returned to the Daily Planet and found Oliver and Lois speaking in supposedly intimate tones. As Oliver left, he warned Clark that Lois was angry. However, Lois seemed the opposite and claimed that she was not one to get jealous over someone like Zatanna. Clark admitted to Lois that Zatanna kissed him. Lois was not surprised, as she could tell by his inability to make eye contact. Lois then proceeded to even the playing field by kissing a random passer-by. Thrown off but still intent on making it up to Lois, Clark offered to take her to the after-Con Costume ball. Lois accepted both the tickets and the apology on the condition that she could pick his costume.Clark and Lois were together on Valentine's Day when Clark became infected with gemstone kryptonite, giving him the ability of persuasion. He told Lois that he wanted a traditional relationship and unaware of the spell that had been cast, Lois quit her job and insisted that they would get engaged. Clark was surprised by Lois's behavior, as well as against the idea of marrying her due to the speed their relationship was going, but she continued to plan the wedding, phoning family and friends to tell them the news. It was only when Clark was cured by kryptonite that the spell was broken and Lois was keen for them to slow things down.
The next day at the Planet, Lois was working on her story when she got a text message on her Checkmate comm device from Amanda Waller, but Lois was forced to hide the device when Clark came in. She tried to distract him by suggesting they take a break from work and go for a romantic dinner to which Clark easily agreed. However, Faora arrived and Clark explained that Faora was his lead on a current "story."
Lois ended up going to the restaurant where she wanted to meet with Clark. As she sat, surrounded by signs of romance everywhere, a man named Dr. Chisholm approached and told her that he had a story for her, surrounding a conspiracy of aliens living among humans. However she feared that he was insane and had attempted to inform the police. Before she could say anything, Chisholm kidnapped Lois to be "drafted into war." Lois tried to save Vala, a Kandorian, with help from Zod, but Chisholm stopped them. As the Blur, Clark rescued Lois, Vala and Zod. Back at the Planet, Lois filled Clark in on her in story while also trying to learn the test result from the blood sample she had obtained at Chisholm lab contained in a box. Clark was very curious about the contents in the mysterious box. Lois made a deal with Clark that if he told her his secret, she would reveal her secret. Suddenly they both received text messages: Clark's was from Zod and Lois's was from Waller. Lois and Clark came to a mutual understanding that a bit of mystery added spice to their relationship and decided to keep some things to themselves, unaware of the consequences of this decision.
In an effort to get some much needed alone time with Lois, Clark planned a mysterious romantic getaway in an attempt to finally consummate their relationship. Uncertain of what type of location spot Clark had chosen, Lois prepared her bags for each possible case scenario. Clark arrived at the Daily Planet and informed Lois they would be staying at a Scottish place called McDougal Inn. Lois and Clark arrived at the inn during a dreadful storm, due a slight detour to see the biggest ball of yarn in the world, at Lois's behest. Unfortunately for the happy couple, they checked in later than expected and the Innkeeper gave their registered room to another couple, a couple they would later find out to be Oliver and Chloe. The innkeeper informed them that only remaining room had a dreadful water leak, which Clark was able to fix. He also managed to rapidly make the room inhabitable using his super powers.
Clark tried to make everything perfect to spend the night with Lois and he was very impressed when he saw Lois in her lingerie. As the two were preparing to spend their first intimate night in bed together, they were suddenly interrupted by a terrifying scream.
Lois and Clark went to investigate the disturbance only to discover that Oliver and Chloe were in bathrobes in the middle of the lobby. The next morning was very awkward for both couples as they discussed ending up at the same location as well as their different views on Oliver and Chloe as a couple. Unfortunately for Lois and Clark, a series of strange events unfolded that inhibited their romance. A spirit known as the Silver Banshee escaped from the underworld and in the process, possessed Chloe and Lois causing a few more awkward moments. Chloe, possessed by Silver Banshee, attempted to seduce Clark in the shower and a possessed Lois tried to kill Oliver in the woods. Thanks Chloe's help, Clark was able to return Banshee back to the underworld and Lois returned to normal with no memory of the previous events of the hour.
Back at the Talon, Lois and Clark talked about their horrible trip and Clark told her that it wasn't so bad, especially for the ball of yarn. Clark lifted Lois on the table and they passionately kissed when suddenly her cellphone started to ring. Trying to respect her privacy, Clark did not listen to the phone conversation. The person calling her turned out to be Zod, pretending to be the Blur by using his voice scrambler. Zod then proceeded to ask Lois for her help while requesting that she keep their conversations secret from everybody, including Clark.
Clark paid Lois a surprise visit, finding an unexplained cut on her body which she could not account for, followed by her stating that she could not remember how she got into bed with the clothes she was wearing the night before. Clark and Lois leaned in for a kiss, which was interrupted when her phone went off, convincing Clark that Lois was hiding something from him. As Lois tried to distract him from asking more questions, Zod, continuing to pose as the Blur, called.
After Clark discovered that Lois had been secretly working for the Blur, their relationship was tested by none other than his own alter-ego. Lois assumed that Clark was just jealous of the relationship she had with The Blur, severely straining their relationship. The new editor of the Daily Planet, Franklin Stern, had also issued a friendly challenge that threatened both of their jobs. The couple attempted to save their careers by doing an expose on the recently early release of former D.A. Ray Sacks. After causing an embarrassing scene at the welcome back party for Sacks that landed on the front page of Metropolis Inquisitor newspaper, Stern fired the couple from the Planet. Lois was then kidnapped by Maxwell Lord, who intended on uncovering the true identity of the Blur by exploring her mind, but she subconsciously fought his powers.
As the Blur, Clark saved Lois and they had another encounter in which Clark was almost willing to reveal himself to Lois. However, shortly before this, Lois furiously told Clark that the Blur would never reveal his identity and put her in danger just to get his secret off his back. In order to protect her, Clark called Lois as the Blur and ended their relationship in an emotional phone call, telling her that any future calls would only be from an impostor.
As Clark, he met her on the rooftop of The Daily Planet for their date where he tried to be understanding to the conflicted feelings Lois was experiencing due to her break-up with The Blur. Clark questioned if he would be enough to fill her void, now that the "Blur" was gone, but she didn't answer, leaving their relationship's future in question.
Clark tried to focus all his attention in finding Jor-El's Book of Rao in hopes of finding a solution to preventing Zod and his army from ruling Earth. Unfortunately, Lois was fully determined to find a way in getting her and Clark's jobs back at The Daily Planet. Believing that her job as a reporter gave her purpose Lois tried to enlist Clark's help, only to find he was more preoccupied with a mysterious quest of his own. Stressed by their conflicting goals and Clark's dishonesty, Lois suggested that they take a break from their relationship. At that moment, Martha Kent returned to the Kent Farm for a surprise visit with her boyfriend Perry White. During their stay, Lois and Clark tried to pretend that their relationship as a couple was not in turmoil to please Martha. During an awkward dinner, Lois decided to end her relationship with Clark. A heartbroken Clark talked with his mother about his current problem and Martha assisted Clark in getting the Book of Rao. Lois teamed up with Perry White on a story involving the Kandorians' own quest to obtain the Book and thanks to Perry, Lois and Clark were reinstated as employees at The Daily Planet.
After making the decision to use the Book of Rao to transport all Kryptonians to a different plane of existence, Clark decided to be completely honest to Lois about the true feelings that he deeply had for her. Unbeknownst to him, Zod met with her earlier on, revealing himself as the Blur in an effort to get Lois to have misgivings about Clark as she investigated further into Clark's activities and for her to retrieve the Book of Rao for him. Lois, feeling sentimental about Clark, began looking through a trunk in his loft. Prior to Clark's arrival, Lois discovered Dr. Swann's journal and saw an image of the Book of Rao, unnerving her and making her come to conclusion that Clark knew more about the Kandorians than he was letting on.
When Clark arrived, meaning to reveal his feelings and possibly his secret to Lois, she mentioned that Perry White offered her a job in Africa and that she would turn it down for Clark. Clark, taken back by this and knowing his intentions to leave with the other Kryptonians, decided to keep his secrets although Lois, desperate for the truth, claimed that they needed to be honest with one other. Clark denied multiple times that he was hiding anything from her and encouraged Lois to take the job. She then responded by saying that she would stay for him, showing that as important as her career was to her, she'd give up Africa to be with him. A clearly distraught Lois left after a last embrace, with Clark unaware that Lois had used this time to take the Book of Rao from him.
As Lois prepared to give the disguised Zod the Book of Rao, she discovered that Zod was not the real Blur due to the difference of the touch on her left shoulder. Thus, Lois confirmed his deception and refused to give him the Book. Angered, Zod attempted to kill her by throwing her into a nearby phone booth with super strength, but was stopped by Clark in his Blur attire.
Clark super sped in and with a powerful punch, knocked Zod away as he rushed to catch Lois. He prevented her from fully hitting the phone booth and set her down. After awakening, she walked over to him in the shadows, asking for his forgiveness for believing Zod's lies. She handed him the Book of Rao and Clark pulled her towards him, giving her a passionate goodbye kiss before he departed. Lois showed an expression of shock and then smiled, coming to the realization and amazement that Clark and the Blur were one and the same"

Lois, seeing Clark lying dead in the street, desperately tried to revive him by removing the blue kryptonite knife from his chest and then hid nearby to watch him recover, to her relief and joy. Still coming to terms with the fact that Clark was the Blur, Lois uncovered archived articles of Clark's heroics in his youth as well as discovering the new costume that Martha had left for Clark. Lois was saddened that she was the last to know, but arranged to meet Clark later to discuss their relationship.
However, Lois was knocked unconscious and subsequently kidnapped by a degenerated clone of Lex Luthor and tied to a post surrounded by fire in a similar manner of the Scarecrow where Lex had found Clark strung up like a scarecrow 9 years earlier. Once Clark saved Lois, she left for Africa, much to Clark's disappointment. However, Lois felt that she was doing this to benefit Clark so he could be the hero he was destined to be.
While in Egypt, Lois encountered Carter Hall, whom Clark had sent to keep a watchful eye on her for him. Carter realized that Lois had discovered Clark's super powers. Lois explained her reasons for leaving in the first place, believing herself to be a hindrance to Clark from fulfilling his destiny, but Carter could see that in order for Clark to reach his full potential he'd need Lois by his side and encouraged her to return to Metropolis. Meanwhile, back in Metropolis, Clark struggled with Lois' absence when the newest recruit to the Planet, Cat Grant, was assigned as his new partner. Clark was set to go to Egypt to get Lois back until he realized that if he truly loved her, he'd let her go and she'd come back of her own free will.
Lois returned to Metropolis just as a possessed Gordon Godfrey began publicly speaking out against the Blur and vigilantes. She and Clark were upset about this and she comforted Clark about the hurtful things Godfrey was saying. In addition, she also apologized for the note that she left him and he accepted her apology just before he tried to save her from a falling billboard. However, Kara returned and caught the billboard. Lois was concerned about Kara's public display of powers, due to her connection to Clark and Godfrey's followers growing animosity towards heroes.
Lois went to extremes to discredit Godfrey by photographing him in a bondage club, which Clark disapproved of, but Lois reasoned that the vigilantes were vital, which comforted Clark. Lois said that the Blur was different than all of the other vigilantes, believing that he'd work out his fears and be there for her before leaving Clark to ponder their conversation.Lois, seeing that Clark was upset, tried cheering him, encouraging him to go to their Smallville High Reunion. However, Clark told her that he had several memories there that were largely associated with Lana and Chloe, rather than her. At the reunion, while searching for her name tag on a table with several other names on there, she noticed that Lana was one of them, which sparked a pang of jealousy in her. She asked Clark if Lana was coming to the dance and he said that she wasn't, which put Lois' mind at rest. Lois could see that the memories were hard for Clark and apologized for bringing him there.
They were eventually crowned the king and queen of the homecoming, much to Clark's dismay and Lois's delight. Brainiac 5 subsequently appeared to Clark and after showing him the truth about Jonathan's death, Clark tried to wrench the Legion ring from him when he saw Greg Arkin, a metahuman he'd fought in high school, approach Lois, only to end up time traveling to the future.
On October 15, 2017, Clark encountered Lois at the Daily Planet, who told him to put on his glasses to conceal his identity. He was stunned to discover they were now top reporters, working on the 8th floor of the building in their own private office, as well as a married couple. When Lois asked Clark what was wrong, he said he was from a different time. Lois misinterpreted this and revealed that she knew he was the Last Son of Krypton. When he was speechless because she knew his secret, Lois also misunderstood this and thought she missed their anniversary. When Clark believed it was their wedding anniversary, Lois informed him the actual anniversary was the day Clark told Lois his secret.
Lois checked the desk calender and corrected Clark, telling him she hadn't missed the anniversary because it was a couple weeks away. After more conversing, Lois then revealed her knowledge about Clark's weakness to various colors of Kryptonite. Clark also encountered his future counterpart self, whose appearance was now that of a nerdy, glasses-wearing, as well as uptight mild-mannered reporter to conceal his identity as Superman, who enlisted his aid in dealing with an upcoming crisis that required him to be in two places at once. After teaming up with his future self, he saved Lois from a helicopter disaster. Lois reprimanded him, for there was a pilot who could've seen him without his costume on and he was amazed by her efforts to protect his secret. They shared a passionate kiss and she reminded him about their dinner later that evening.
After being returned to the present, Clark and Lois danced and almost kissed, but were interrupted by the announcement of the ending of the dance. At the Kent farm, however, they got to share a dance and they confessed their love. Unbeknownst to Lois, Clark began floating in midair.
After admitting their love, there was initially an uncomfortable tension between the two of them as Lois tried to prepare herself to reveal to Clark that she was fully aware of his identity as the Blur, yet it didn't change the fact that she was madly in love with him. However, at the same time, Clark was planning to admit the truth about his dual identity. At the Planet, Lois set up a way to address it to Clark, but with the return of Cat Grant and Lois' possession by the ancient Egyptian goddess known as Isis, her plans were temporarily delayed. After the ordeal, Clark and Lois discussed the Blur and she wondered if the Blur would ever tell her who he was. Clark seemed to hesitate and as Lois walked away in disappointment, he decided to reveal to Lois his secret as the Blur, to which she was greatly overjoyed. She tackled him into a stack of papers and initiated a kiss. Ecstatic, she asked him what took him so long, shocking Clark with the revelation that she was already aware of his dual identity.Clark purposely assigned Lois and himself to cover a low profiled event that was outside the city of Metropolis, in an attempt to keep Lois safe from the vigilante protest that was taking place later that night. During their drive, Lois learned of Clark's Kryptonian heritage and discovered certain previous unexplained events that were Kryptonian-related. She eventually learned Clark's real motives for taking this assignment and wasn't too thrilled that Clark was worried about her safety. During their drive, their car suddenly received a flat tire, causing them to veer off the road in the middle of nowhere. Clark used his strength to remove the flat tire, impressing Lois. As he was doing this, a girl named Charlotte offered her lemonade. Clark was ready to leave with Lois to get a spare tire from a gas station, but Lois decided to teach Clark a lesson to not be so overprotective of her. Clark trusted her and agreed to Lois's terms. He headed out on his own, leaving Lois behind in the care of Charlotte. Some time later, he returned to find Lois missing.
While he was searching for her, a local cop knocked him unconscious and brought him to the village, where Lois informed him of a bizarre annual tradition the villagers had for their harvest every year, involving a human sacrifice and added that she needed to be saved. Clark told her that the radiation effects of blue kryptonite that was projecting from the villagers' bodies due to the exposure from their water supply was suppressing his powers from functioning properly. Upon learning this information, Lois revealed that she was the one who'd pulled out the blue kryptonite knife after his fall. They then managed to almost escape, but Lois' nail polish gave them away. She was horrified when Clark was fatally slashed in the chest, but when he was buried, he healed and was able to regain his abilities. Just as she was about to be burned alive, he shielded her body and received a dire burn from the blue kryptonite fire. When he healed, Lois was able to intimidate the villagers and Clark sped away with her in his arms, stunning the villagers.
Back in the loft, Clark apologized for being overprotective and Lois acknowledged to Clark that if it weren't for him, she would have been a "crispy critter in Hellsville." Clark then gave Lois Virgil Swann's Kryptonian journal, saying that she needed to know him completely and admitted that she was THE ONE and ALWAYS would be, leading to a powerful, romantic and passionate night during which Clark and Lois made love for the first time.
During a "Thanksgiving holiday," Lois and Clark came downstairs together, exhilarated and in high spirits, to the Kent kitchen with Lois wearing Clark's football jersey, suggesting that they had just spent the previous night consummating their relationship. Clark poured himself and Lois a glass of orange juice while Lois ate a strawberry with intense passion in her eyes. Clark suggested he make breakfast for her but Lois appeared to have an appetite not for food, but for Clark, suggesting they go out to the porch swing for a second round. Lois was about to open the front door when Clark sped to her and they ended up in a passionate embrace. However, this was embarrassingly and unexpectedly interrupted by the arrival of General Sam Lane and Lucy, who paid an unexpected visit to Lois and Clark, ambushing them at the Kent Farm to spend "Thanksgiving."Lois told Clark that she was nervous about her family, despite Clark's reassuring her that he wanted to spend time with her and to calm down. However, he was taken by surprise when she said that the General despised vigilantes and would interrogate him. While her father was watching a football game, there was a fire at a refinery back in Smallville and Lois informed Clark about this and he put out the fire, using the excuse that he'd gone upstairs. When Clark came back with cranberries, the General became suspicious, prompting Lois to tell him that Clark was checking the chimney to explain the ash. Lucy ambushed Clark in the loft, kissing him in an attempt to ruin her sister's relationship with him. Lois walked in on this and he told her that she took him by surprise.
After this, she heard a ruckus in the barn and saw that it was Clark chopping wood with his hand. She told him to be careful, given her father's hatred of superheroes. He apologized for the incident with Lucy and she said that it wasn't his fault, but wanted to know how he could take out a burning building and not a "twenty-something girl." Clark said that Lucy surprised him, but that he was also shocked by the fact that Lois did not stand up to her father, to which she said that she was trying to get through the holiday without fighting. She said that she didn't agree with the Vigilante Registration Act, but it meant something to her father and pleaded with him not to make her choose sides. Their relationship was strained when he thought she stood up to her beliefs, but was too afraid to do so with the General. A furious Lois then informed him that he didn't have a family to deal with and had to answer to himself, while adding that if he wanted to be with her, he'd have to cope with her family before she left in tears.Things took a turn for the worse during Clark's interrogation. The General had pictures of him with Kara, claiming that he was in league with the vigilantes. He was devastated when her father said that it was the last day he would ever spend with Lois, in an attempt to protect his family. Lois was in the kitchen finishing dinner when Clark entered. She said she had been keeping everything together all day and all Clark had to do was deal with her family for one day. Clark informed her that her father had him investigated by the Pentagon and that Lucy planted photos of him with Kara in the loft. Lucy and the General then came downstairs and he ordered Lois to join them. She begged him to stay and work out their issues, but he said that Clark was a dishonest man with dangerous friends. Clark watched hopelessly as Lois left with her father and sister. In the Talon, Lois continuously tried to talk her father into going back to the farm to talk to Clark. The General denied this, saying that he was going to make a phone call to see what Clark was hiding. Lois said that it didn't matter because she loved Clark and everything that the General needed to know was in front of him. Lois then tearfully said that if he loved her, he would respect her decision to stay with Clark. Lucy then suggested that she and the General leave.
Unfortunately, when Lois was abandoned in the Talon, the Suicide Squad fired a missile with her location as the target, attempting to kill the General. Clark subsequently saved her life. Once the General saw that the Blur saved Lois' life, he had more respect for him and told Clark that in the barn before dinner. The General approved of Lois' and Clark's relationship because he could see that Lois truly did love Clark. The General also alluded to the suspicion that Clark was the Blur but never went farther than that. Clark then asked Sam a question regarding his relationship with Lois, heavily implying he requested her father's blessing to marry her, before celebrating Thanksgiving with the Lanes.
After the destruction of the Talon, Lois was in Clark's kitchen late at night where she found a box on the table full of her mother's things that her father had dropped off before he left. Clark came down and teased her about not admitting that she moved in. He asked her what was in the box and she discovered old video tapes of her mother that she'd made before succumbing to cancer. Lois was afraid to watch them, terrified of her mother being angry with Lois for not coming to see her in the hospital. She asked if he felt bad about Jor-El disowning him as his son, Clark replying that he was not really his father. Lois was somewhat shocked, while Clark was torn between staying with Lois to help her deal with the problem and his patrol as the Blur, but after strained reassurance from Lois, he left her so she could sort out the tapes.
Her mother told her, on the recorded messages, that she did not want Lois at the hospital because she didn't want to see her so brought down in her illness and so weak. Her messages strengthened Lois' heart and she then resolved to help Clark deal with Jor-El. She searched the barn to look for some way to find the fortress and found the book where Clark used to keep the key, the maps to the Kawatche Caves and after digging further she unearthed the Key itself. She then set out for the fortress, intending to help Clark with his turbulent relationship with Jor-El.
When she arrived, she pleaded with Jor-El to reach out to Clark. She reminded him how wonderful Clark was but was concerned that while he might know Lois loved him, he'd never be able to fully hear it with the ghost of Jor-El's disappointment in him looming over his head. When Jor-El remained silent, Lois was furious and said that Clark was more Kryptonian than he and better off without him. Suddenly, Jor-El lifted her up off the ground and bathed her in blue energy. After helping Tess deal with Granny Goodness, Clark returned home to find Lois and the key gone. He headed to the fortress and was shocked to find Lois in what he perceived to be trouble. He warned Jor-El that if he hurt Lois, he would have failed all of Clark's expectations of him and after a moment, he forcefully removed Lois from Jor-El's hold. Lois explained to Clark why she was there and begged Jor-El one last time to speak to Clark and pleaded Clark one last time to hear him out. After a few moments of silence, the Fortress lit up and Jor-El and Lara appeared in the center of the fortress with a message for Clark. It became clear that it was a message they'd prerecorded mere moments before Krypton's destruction and Clark's departure. They told him that they had sent him away to save him from not only Krypton's destruction but their own personal failures. Lara and Jor-El informed him that he was made up of the best of the both of them and Jor-El assured him that whatever trials he might have put him through, he was confident that Clark would become Earth's greatest champion and that they'd never lose faith in him or stop loving him. This message raised Clark's spirits, as he knew that his father still loved him despite everything they'd been through.
Back at the farm, Clark thanked Lois for making that trip for him and helping him to deal with Jor-El. He explained to her that he had a better understanding of Jor-El's actions and motivations. Lois put the glass blue bird belonging to her mother in the window of the kitchen and handed Clark her tooth brush, as well as confirming she'd officially moved in now. As she put the box in the closet, she found a card from her mother that read "For your wedding day" on the front. Clark asked her if she'd let him take her to the Ace of Clubs for power ballad night. Lois was cheerful, saying she wanted to get there before all the Whitesnake was gone. Lois called from the front porch for him to hurry, saying that it was going to start soon. Clark replied "sooner than you think," and pulled a small box out of his pocket and opened it to reveal a diamond ring, to which he smiled.
For a few weeks since the Vigilante Registration Act came into existence, Clark had been M.I.A. from Metropolis, secretly meeting with his cousin Kara around the globe. Upon returning to Metropolis, Clark dropped off a gift on Lois desk. Lois had been busy herself trying to uncover as much information about the real agenda government had planned for any applicant heroes who sign up. She was delighted to see Clark's gift on her desk, but also expressed that she missed him. When Oliver visited her at the bullpen at the Daily Planet to tell her that he was going to sign the bill, Lois was distressed to hear this and frustrated when Oliver revealed to her that the only reason he was doing this was to protect Clark, who was originally considering to sign up. Lois was shocked because Clark hadn't even told her that he'd been considering this, yet he'd confided in Oliver and everyone else involved just as she'd thought they'd started having an honest relationship. Oliver tried to reassure Lois that Clark was merely looking out for her safety and that the Earth needed her.Clark was meanwhile in Miami, Florida with Arthur Curry and his wife Mera, where he shockingly discovered that the government was building high containment facility to imprison heroes. Lois met with Col. Slade Wilson and her meeting uncovered what the government had planned for any heroes who sign up. When Oliver did so, Lois desperately tried to find Clark by interrogating Emil Hamilton for his current location. After Hamilton informed her that Clark was in Florida, Lois journeyed to the Miami Atlantic Aquarium where she encountered Mera, Arthur's wife, where they discussed their current relationships. When they learned that Arthur and Oliver were abducted, Lois managed to retrieve their whereabouts. After they were rescued, she and Clark talked about Arthur's relationship with Mera, saying that they were together in the fight against the VRA and the darkness. This prompted Clark, along with Arthur's questioning if he could handle her involvement in his heroic life, to bring her to Watchtower, thus joining the team and he told the team of the darkness.
As he was wandering through Metropolis, Lois bumped into him with his car and was hostile towards him. He was shocked by her attitude, as well as her engagement to Oliver. After some time, he discovered that Oliver apparently had the box and "abducted" Lois as leverage. She refused to cooperate and he apologized for his actions. Kent tried to convince her that he was from Earth-1, saying that she frequently misspelled words and was brave and loyal, as well as confessing that he couldn't live in a world where she didn't love him. This finally convinced her that he was telling the truth and he departed. When Kent returned, he was stunned to find Lois, Oliver, as well as Tess aiming kryptonite-powered weapons at him in a somewhat destroyed Watchtower. He attempted to tell them that it was him, but when they didn't listen, he turned to Lois and requested that she tell them. This prompted her to lower her weapon and rush over to him. She was relieved when she discovered that it was him and they embraced. At the hospital, Kent apologized to Lois for what Luthor did to her and gave her flowers, both of which she accepted.Clark planned a romantic dinner for both him and Lois. She was late and attempted to change plans due to the newly issued curfew the VRA made, as if they stayed out any later, they'd go after Clark. He then faked having to rescue someone and called the phone booth. Lois answered and was showered in rose petals. Clark manifested in front of her and got down on one knee and proposed her hand in marriage. Thrilled by this new milestone in their relationship, Lois accepted and they shared a passionate kiss.
The following day, Tess hosted a surprise engagement party at Watchtower, where all of Clark and Lois' friends congratulated them on their engagement. Their happiness was short-lived when Lois, Emil, Tess, and Cat were interrogated by the military after Oliver was attacked when he tried to save a girl from a mugging. Lois remained defiant and later escaped with use of Tess' secret passage in her office. She headed to Slade's office to investigate, only to cross paths with him. He demanded to know where Clark was, but she didn't cooperate. Just as he was about to kill her, Carter saved her, but sacrificed himself in the process. His wings aflame, he prevented Lois from falling to her death, but he suffered the impact of the fall while attempting to protect her. Clark arrived, relieved to find Lois unharmed and upset when he saw that Carter was dying.
Carter told Clark to hold onto Lois, as he couldn't do what he needed to do with an emptiness in his heart, before he died. A devastated Clark and Lois attended his burial with the rest of the League, during which they were all struck unconscious by a mysterious pyramid-like object that rose out of the sand.
Following these events, Lois was desperate to find Clark. He later showed up at the Kent house, much to Lois' relief. They shared an emotional reunion and Clark informed her that the VRA had been waiting for them at Carter's funeral. Lois then asked him if he was okay and he said he was fine, but not before he purposely cut himself—revealing he'd lost his powers.
She was stunned by this revelation and panicked when Clark had a sudden flash of Chloe supposedly experimenting on him. Later, they met Chloe on the Daily Planet rooftop, where she told them that everything they saw was in a virtual reality while the government was experimenting on them and the flashes he had were actually of her hooking him back up to the virtual reality after he flat lined when she tried to disconnect him. Chloe was unable to gain Clark's trust and she jumped off the building with Oliver, thus bringing him back to the real world.Lois and Clark later got into an argument about Chloe's disappearance and Lois was able to get through to him. Just as they were about to make the leap, Chloe's avatar was hijacked and tried to prevent them from leaving. However, Lois declared her belief in Clark and he was able to take flight. They shared a romantic flight before returning to reality. At the farm, after Lois asked Chloe to be the Maid of Honor at her wedding, she met Clark in the loft and confessed that while their flight was amazing, she knew that he could achieve the impossible. They shared a tender kiss and Clark hoped that they would fly in the real world, to which Lois promised that they would.
Lois informed Clark that Martha was trying to sway the public opinion of the citizens of Metropolis to fight the Vigilante Registration Act and they watched on live television as she cheered on the heroes. However, events took an unfortunate and shocking turn when she was shot, but she survived the assault. Clark was still worried about the votes, so Lois and Chloe showed him a few videos from hero supporters who refused to give in to the hatred and were willing to stand show their support for The Blur, showing him that he'd been so preoccupied coping with those who detested heroes that he had been blinded from seeing those who resisted. Clark was filled with joy when he was declared an "American hero" by Lois. They later re-opened the Watchtower. At the farm, the results of the vote were revealed and Martha, Clark, Lois, Chloe and Oliver were overjoyed when the VRA was repealed by a nationwide vote.
Lois planned her upcoming wedding with the usage of a miniature model at the Daily Planet while also communicating with Clark over her Bluetooth while he was in London. She was shocked when she found a video-feed of Clark, in his Blur form standing on the edge of Clock tower in England with some minor visual distortion features of his face seen even though he was standing in the shadows. Lois suggested to Clark to take into consideration the thought of creating a new disguise. Initially, she attempted to improve his Blur costume, with a hood and shades that resembling the look of Impulse but Clark disapproved, refusing to hide behind a mask. Clark presented to her a pair of glasses and decided to wear them in an attempt conceal his identity as a superhero. Lois felt this could work but only if Clark would acted differently when he wore them, thereby creating two separate identities and approved when Clark successfully pulled off his new "personality" when Jeff bumped into him.
Clark and Lois celebrated their engagement with Tess, Chloe and Emil and after toasting, they blacked out. When Clark came to, he discovered a text from Lois claiming she "needed more time." This upset him a great deal, making him believe Lois was reconsidering marrying him. Later on, Lois apologized to Clark about betting the ring and requested his forgiveness. He told her that the ring wasn't important—she was and confessed that he was worried he'd scared her away. She denied it, saying that it wasn't that. Clark understood, saying that he wanted to marry her whenever she was ready. Lois then gave Tess the video camera and everyone viewed the amusing footage during which Clark admitted Lois was the love of his life.
Lois and Clark faced a new challenge in their relationship when Tess introduced Conner, a teenage boy, who was a genetic engineered clone of Lex Luthor who shared half of Clark's DNA into their care in an attempt to give Conner the chance at a normal life that was far from the evil Luthor dynasty. When Conner first encountered Lois, he was instantly attracted to her and this activated his heat vision. Lois was shocked and very concerned by Conner's origins, as well as the fact that he possessed all of Clark's abilities and the possibility some of Lex's natural instinct. Clark later admitted that, despite the Kent's positive upbringing, he always felt like a freak and that she was the only thing that made him feel human. Lois remained supportive to Clark in accepting Conner and raising him correctly much like the Kents had done. When Lois was kidnapped by Lionel of Earth-2, Conner came to her rescue. Unfortunately, under the influence of the Red kryptonite ring he was wearing, his lustful desire to be with Lois severely clouded his judgment and caused him to attack her when she, remaining faithful to Clark, denied his advances. After Clark managed to restore Conner to his normal self, Lois met him in the barn. They shared a heart-to-heart and Lois told Clark that when they raised a family of their own, he'd be a great father.Their relationship endured further complications when she ended up working late due to her promotion and Clark spending most of his time on patrol. They were both shocked to find that Martha wanted them to sell the farm and Clark Kent was sent back to Earth-2 by Clark Luthor. When Kent arrived, he was taken back to see that Oliver's funeral was taking place. Lois, now Oliver's wife, was disgusted and furious when she saw Clark and subdued him with kryptonite. He convinced her he wasn't Luthor by telling her what he did the last time and she stopped the assault. Lois warned him that everyone knew his weakness to kryptonite due to Oliver's actions and he appreciated the warning. Back in Earth-1 Clark Luthor tried to fool Lois into thinking he was Clark Kent but Lois seeing Luthor's cold attitude towards the telescope, knowing Kent had a thing for telescopes could immediately tell the difference and know that Clark Luthor was back and quickly enlisted Emil Hamilton help to bring Clark Kent back. When Luthor was presumably sent back to his own universe, Lois noticed that an incident had shaken Kent. He admitted that he was holding on to things in order to protect them, but knew that they were to move to Metropolis. Lois reassured him that they were never going to lose each other, with or without the farm. She broke the tension by saying that Smallville was her home, alluding to Clark.
Lois' fierce determination to protect Clark's identity as the Blur unexpectedly put a strain on their relationship, as they argued about making his "Clark Kent" disguise forgettable to those around him. She mentioned that the Blur had been offered the key to the city by the mayor and showed him an example of a mild-mannered teenager - reminding Clark of what he used to be during his teenage years. In addition, Lois told him that his real persona was the hero that he was and he'd have to step into the light in order to gain the city's trust. Clark then diverted her attention to her focus on him rather than the open career promotion and she informed him of her confidence that she'd get the position. When Booster Gold, the newest hero in Metropolis, arrived, he complimented Clark's glasses and this prompted Clark to talk to Lois about him and his remark.
Lois, however, was focused on protecting his secret. Clark went to Watchtower to learn more about Booster and when Lois walked in, she assumed he was envious while he believed Booster knew when and where accidents were to happen. They decided to investigate Kord Industries and Booster. During Clark's investigation, he was surprised to see a billboard saying that the Blur was the "real Man of Steel." He met Lois at the Daily Planet, questioning her about the poster. She told him that she would not let the Blur be forgotten as Metropolis' savior and in response, he mentioned that the new vigilante was receiving the key in exchange for his services. In shock, she said that it should've been his and he should reveal himself to the Earth just as they got a phone call from Booster claiming he knew his secret. Later at the Kent farm, Lois was reading Booster's profile. Clark soon entered and told her after seeing how well Booster hid his own doubts, he believed he could make the transition of himself as a mild-mannered reporter work, but he revealed to Lois the real reason: He was concerned about adapting the placid persona to his everyday life: he wasn't afraid of people's opinions, but about their reaction to Lois being married to an easy-going reporter. She reassured him that they'd make it work out and passionately kissed him leading them to have sex on the couch.
Lois and Clark moved to Metropolis and while they were unpacking, Clark suggested super-speeding to finish up faster. Amused, Lois said that a part of starting their lives was slowly exploring every part. After they learned from Tess that Slade had escaped the Phantom Zone, Clark went in to get answers and was followed by Oliver. They later lost contact with Watchtower, worrying Lois. She eventually discovered Clark and Tess' plan to destroy the crystal from the Fortress' console and was distraught because they hadn't told her. Later, when they returned, Clark and Lois shared an emotional reunion. She confronted him about his plan with Tess and he apologized, claiming he was protecting her. This didn't reassure her and she admitted that she'd rather be with him in the Zone than be fearful of his safety. Clark was relieved that, during the weeks of his absence, Lois had not postponed their marriage and said that nothing could prevent him from marrying her and he was ecstatic to learn that their wedding was in two days.A day before their wedding, Clark informed Lois that, although he had told her father about their marriage, he had not yet to tell Jor-El. They headed to the Fortress and Clark told his father that he wished to start a "life bond" with Lois. In return, Jor-El seemingly harmed Lois. A terrified Clark rushed to her aid, only to find that he was powerless and she had obtained Kryptonian powers. Lois was ecstatic, using her superspeed all the time, but Clark was worried about his father's motives for his actions. Later, when a store was closing earlier than expected, Clark instructed Lois to use her superhearing: she was upset to learn that, every day, he was forced to ignore every cry for help. She soon heard a fight and stopped it. When she unmasked the attacker, she was startled to find that it was Courtney Whitmore. In pure recklessness, she confronted Winslow Schott and he managed to manipulate her into putting on a mind control device when he threatened Clark's safety. He ordered her to kill the Blur once she was under his control. She proceeded to attack Clark and he was horrified to discover she was mind-controlled. Clark stalled her by declaring his love and once it was sunset, he managed to subdue her without harming her and got rid of the device, much to his and Lois' relief. That night, a heartbroken Lois tearfully tried to end her engagement to Clark after seeing how difficult it was for him to monitor everybody. An upset Clark consolingly embraced her, unwilling to give up on their marriage. Clark and Lois warred over whether they would get married. Tired of Lois' determination to call off the wedding, he told her that she'd have to leave him standing at the altar. It was not until Chloe intervened by showing her Clark's vows when she decided to go through with their marriage. Clark found Lois at their apartment and was shocked to learn that she was marrying him after all. She confessed that she had read his vows and he read her vows in return before agreeing to meet her at the altar. During the wedding, she began to walk down the aisle and was worried when she didn't see Clark at the altar before he took her by the hand and the ceremony continued. Just as Clark and Lois were about to be declared husband and wife, Chloe noticed his ring was made of gold kryptonite and knocked it away.
At the Daily Planet, he informed Lois about Tess' warning that Apokolips was an actual planet hurtling towards Earth. They eventually figured out that Tess' kidnapper was Lionel and the last location was the now destroyed Luthor mansion. Before he departed, they shared a passionate kiss and reaffirmed their love. Lois was aboard Air Force One when it hit turbulence. It was about to crash when Clark, now able to fly, appeared fully in his Superman suit, saving it before preventing Apokolips from crashing into the 🌏
Six months later, they are still shown living together in their Metropolis apartment, considering their wedding to be merely 'on-hold' rather than explicitly called off. As they lament their independently busy lives - he with saving the Earth, she with becoming a pre-eminent reporter - Lois mentions that the Russians have already announced they will be commissioning a statue of Superman to commemorate his saving of the space station. Clark expresses his discomfort at the hero worship, but Lois assures him that it is inspiring people, just as he wanted to do with the suit. Clark states that he'd like to finally tell the Earth that Superman is an alien.Lois counters that with all of the concern brought on by the pictures of the aliens on Apokolips, it might not be the best time, especially with Lex Luthor making such noise about it in public.
Later the same morning at Watchtower, Lois comes by with coffee and asks wha`t has Chloe so stressed. She explains that she's trying to find out just what was the energy ribbon - or "rift," as she refers to it - that Clark saw in space. When Lois refers to her "forever-fiancé", Chloe apologizes for her Oliver being married while Clark and Lois have yet to be. Lois assures her that they will get married when the time is right, when the Earth is in less danger, Clark isn't trying to save it and Lois isn't busy reporting on the danger and Clark's saving the day.
Having changed, Clark shows up and whispers to Lois that they both know Lex killed Tess but don't have any proof yet to confront him about it. Having addressed Lois' questions, Lex continues with the conference. Lex announces that in two days LexCorp will launch into orbit the first of the Guardian defense platforms. The press and public are impressed, save for Lois. She asks Lex where he will able to find a pilot for the shuttle to deliver the platform on such short notice and as a respond Lex introduces Commander Hank Henshaw.
During takeoff, Lois tells Clark she has a bad feeling about the Guardian platforms, but Clark claims it might be a good thing, as Superman can't be everywhere at once, but Lois isn't convinced. Clark claims that Hank is trustworthy, but Lois claims Lex is still dangerous. After the talk the spaceshuttle explodes forcing Clark to save it.
Lois comes up to Superman, hoping for a quote, but he instead tells her that Clark will not be home for breakfast, because the explosion was not a misfire.Outside of the Daily Planet, Lois angrily demands she be patched in through to her father. When he answers she argues and ridicules his decision of attempting arresting Superman, but General Lane claims to just be following orders. She calls Clark and he ask her if Sam knows his secret, saying he implied it before, but Lois claims if he did he probably wouldn't have fired at him. As the military surround Superman they begin firing, Lois seeks cover under her convertible below. The bullets deflect off of him and hit the tail rotor of one of the helicopters, which begins to fall. Superman flies in and saves Lois before the helicopter crashes onto her car and explodes. The pilot of Sam's helicopter ask if he should tell base Superman has taken a hostage, but General Lane refuses, stating Superman just saved Lois. High above in the clouds Lois is wrapped in a romantic embrace with Clark followed by a passionate kiss.
The following morning high above on The Daily Planet rooftop, Lois goes up hoping to see Clark Kent only to find Superman. Superman tells her that Clark will be taking an extended leave of absence. Because Lex Luthor used the Guardian shuttle launch accident to coat Superman in radiation in order to track his every movements on Earth with his satellites and Clark won't risk the possibility that the circumstance could direct Lex to interfere in his civilian life with Lois.
Lois is angry with this startling revelations and wants to hurt Lex. But Clark forbids it. Lois then suggest that Clark uses his Heat vision to destroy Lex's satellites but Clark says that isn't the answer either. Clark tries to comfort Lois but she still uneasy about the whole situation, Clark reassures her that he'll find away to come back home to her. He kiss her tenderly then flies off .
Later that night as the rest of Metropolis sleeps peacefully. Lois tearfully stands inside her apartment staring out her window looking up to the sky where she whispered her reaffirming love to Clark knowing that he's listening to her.
Three weeks later, Clark and Lois are finally able to spend some time together by having a romantic evening at the Fortress, with the aid of Oliver's satellites blocking Lex's frequency and the Fortress' ability to shield his radiographic signature. Clark is able to enjoy an evening of pleasure with Lois while also working on finding a way to remove the isotope trail from his body.
The following Morning, Clark returns Lois back to Metropolis where he drops her off inside the Daily Planet bullpen basement. Lois arrives to see the bullpen practically empty with the exception of Jeff Hage who is sitting at Clark's desk admiring a photo of Lois and Clark. Lois suggest that perhaps they should look into other stories to write but Jeff reminds her that Superman is big news and most of her front page headliners feature "The Man Of Steel". Jeff also inquires to Lois about the whereabouts of Clark to which Lois simply replies that he's keeping himself busy.
After an incident as Stryker's Island Penitentiary involving Bruno Mannheim, Bruce Wayne Barbara Gordon, Superman and Green Arrow, Superman goes to the Daily Planet, in order to get Lois's help. Superman helps Lois find him in the sky by sparking his heat vision. After the talk over what he did to Mannheim, Lois confirms Joe Chill is in FBI custody.
Meanwhile at Joe Chill's FBI Hideout in Suicide Slums Superman and Batman fight The Prankster and Mr.Freeze but ultimately leads to Joe dying and Superman dying as a result of the Prankster's Kryptonite bullets. The Media however reports a the pursuit of the "murderer Batman kidnapping a wounded Superman". The FBI comes in to arrest Batman. Batman escapes with Superman within the Batmobile. Then Daily Planet reporter Lois joins the police and the FBI in the pursuit chase. Lois and Ollie meet up (wondering where Batman is taking Superman) and Chloe is hacking into the traffic system so no one is hurt during the chase.
Superman tells Batman to call him Clark and Batman, relieved that Clark is still alive, asks him who to call to save him. Nightwing calls Chloe, who in turn calls a choked up Lois: Nightwing gives her the situation: Superman has four Kryptonite bullets, none to the heart, but his vitals are fading. Nightwing, later, gives Batman Lois' message: get the Kryptonite out and then expose Superman to yellow sunlight. But as Batman says, he's already has his hands full. Batman performs the surgery inside the car, just as Lois arrives and she sees it happening. After getting the bullets out, Batman reprograms his vest and splash Clark with yellow sunlight, just as the police report that they lost the Batman.
Inside Leviathan: Clark wakes up with Lois by his side, where Lois reveals the Earth still thinks Batman killed Superman and she can't help but be tempted by the huge story she's been given: Batman isn't a myth and is Bruce Wayne. Barbara Gordon, introducing herself to the two, gives Clark some orange juice before he heads out to speak with Bruce, who is hard at work at the armory.
Batman and Superman later go to take down Freeze and Prankster while Lois and Nightwing deal with the Intergang gang members attempting to infiltrate the Leviathan.
In Metropolis, the next morning, Lois Lane talks to Superman about the news headline of today. Superman and Batman have been hailed as heroes by the Daily Planet, labeled World's Finest in the paper.
Clark and Lois meet on the roof of the Daily Planet Building for a bite to eat and further lament that he can't return to his "normal" life as a mild-mannered reporter. She mentions that he has burned through all of his sick days and vacation time and that their boss, Franklin Stern, is getting suspicious about his absence. Joking about having to tell him Clark's become a fireman or something else, Clark admits that he's devoted his life to bigger things now.
Regarding one of those things, Lois shows Clark pictures of the LexCorp employee, Fritz, who was thrown into a wall and superspeed aged to death. She shows him pictures of other incidents of it occurring over the past five years. She says that these "speed storms" have popped up in Keystone City, Mexico, Miami and islands in the Pacific Ocean, as well as have been increasing in frequency. Clark immediately recognizes each as places Bart has been and that the storms are chasing him like the dark creature. Clark worries that he won't be able to find a way to help Bart when Lois points out that he should consult someone else who has run as fast as Bart before. They are interrupted by Jeff and Clark superspeeds into the sky.
Lois returns to her apartment and talk's with Clark on her cellphone who fills her in on Bart's death and begins to discuss preparations for a funeral. Lois asked if it would be similar to the one they had for Carter, Clark wants to do a bigger one and erect a monument statue as well. Clark then inquires Lois on her status progress on her investigation regarding Lex. Lois decides that considering how his night has been she'd tell him on his next routine flyby. However Clark tells her that he doesn't think that will be necessary anymore. Lois hears a knock at the door and is emotionally delighted and overjoyed by the sight of Clark standing in her doorway once again in his "Mild-Mannered" Persona, she leaps up into his arms and passionately embraces and kisses him. Reigned Lois decides that they get down to business immediately before bed. Lois accompanied by Superman and Green Arrow head to LexCorp plaza and confront Lex in his office to retrieve something precious to them that was stolen.
The Group gather at the Watchtower with Emil present with a new device he'd installed into the core computer net system. Tess then digitally materializes before them with tears thanking them.
The following morning in their apartment, Lois and Clark are having a time of intimacy in shower together that concludes with Clark washing Lois' hair. Clark admits that these were the kinds of moments he missed while he was away. Lois agrees and playful says she'll be more than happy to wash his hair the next time. As they have a lot of domestic bliss to catch up on. Clark agrees and thinks the process would move along faster if Lois wasn't leaving the country so soon. Lois had accepted the assignment to journey to Africa to uncover the identity of the vigilante known as the Angel of the Plateau who is causing problems for the Warlords in the region. Clark address to Lois his uneasiness and concern for her safety and feels he should be their with her. But Lois reminds him that "Clark Kent" re-emergence back the work from an extended leave will be cause for Franklin Stern to keep a close eye on him. Furthermore Lois reminds Clark of what he had previously said to Hank Henshaw regarding "Superman not imposing his will on others."
Clark tells her to be careful as he beings to don his Superman attire. Lois promises him that if anything major goes down she'll call him using the signal-watch. Lois is however more concerned how Clark will manage after what just occurred with Bart.
Clark says he will but he wonders how many more people do they have to loose. Clark hears a distress about a fire coming from an apartment building on Russell and Glosson, While Lois prepares to head to the airport with a Ferris airline ticket. Clark apologizes for not being able to fly her personally to the airport. Lois understands his duties. He profess his love for her as he flies out the window and she in turn acknowledge it and declares her love for him as well.
Upon returning to Metropolis, Lois is reunited with Clark who was also out of town while she was away a month ago. They spend quite an evening in their apartment in which Lois falls a sleep in Clark's arms. As they hover over the bed, Clark is receives a surprising phone call from his mother requesting help.
The following morning, Clark and Lois arrive together at Dulles Airport in Washington, to cover the story related to the attack on Senator Kent's the night before. Thanks to arrangement made by Perry White, The Daily Planet gets the Exclusive interview. Lois is reviled that she still has her frequent flyers mild plan and didn't get bumped to the " Domestic No Fly list" after her little stunt she had pulled on her flight to Africa. Clark reassures her that if she was banded, he'd simply fly her over himself.
While Lois enjoys the notion of flying with Clark more than in an airplane she tells him that it's not wise as it might jeopardize his identity if Superman appeared in Washington as did Clark Kent yet without any proof coming in by an airline. For a brief moment Clark vanishes leaving Lois's side while she still talking to him, Lois notices and simply continues to make her way through the airport terminal. Clark returns quickly and Lois inquires what disaster did he advert this time "Bomb threat", "Fire"? Clark simply response that "No disaster too small" he then hands a toy bear to a little girl who had been previously crying for it." Lois simply congratulates Clark.
Arriving at Martha's residence in Washington, The couple are treated to a good meal prepared by Martha, then inquire about how Conner settling to his new life, Martha reveals that he is currently in San Francisco attending a school founded by Jay Garrick. Lois asked Martha about the attack, Clark stress his nervousness and concern for Martha safety and uneasiness regarding the mysterious woman in white who saved Martha. Lois thinks the attack is somehow connected with the special department D.E.O. she mention her suspension when they confiscated Metallo's depowered body last month, The Lois and Clark decide that Clark will investigate the D.E.O connection and Lois will investigate Martha's mysterious savior.
Lois later meets the mysterious woman, Diana, who saved Martha. The two women bond quite instantly when they are suddenly interrupted by the appearance of some winged creatures, who attack them. Seconds later, Superman arrives and defeats the creatures. Within minutes a group of D.E.O. agents, captained by Steve Trevor, also arrives. When Lois sees Trevor she reveals to Superman that he was her ex-boyfriend.
Lois arrives back to Martha's house after walking Shelby through DC. Martha and Lois asks about what progress Clark is making. He found that the fingerprints belong to Felix and that the prints were entered into the system from records collected in the forties. Clark tries contacting Tess but it is revealed for some reason she's offline but Martha was able to hack into the computer because " when the Red Queen takes down a shadowy organization, no one thinks to change their password". They find out Faust was part of shadowy Anti-Occult unit called "ShadowPact" that was formed in War World II along with Director Bones, who looks exactly as he does now, as well as Zatanna Zatara's father, John Zatara, who left the unit after the first mission, then they start to wonder if Diana was truly after Faust or if she was after Mister Bones. Clark then changes into Superman in order to get information with Lois following in her car.
Superman flies in the sky, while Lois is driving her car following Clark. He spots a fire, while talking to Lois by an intercom and says he has located Diana, with his telescopic vision, outside of Steve Trevor's apartment. He also tells Lois that Diana is taking care of a tank.
Later, after Diana gets arrested, Clark tells Steve to run away from the scene and meet Lois in an alley before he gets in trouble too.
Later, Superman repairs the Washington Monument in front of thousands of people who admire him, and after changing to his civilian persona he goes to find Lois, who is very proud of him, in the crowd. They both know that tomorrow the planet will be a different place, so they savor these moments by kissing.
Flying in space above Earth, Superman remembers his father's advice while listening to the planet talk about his recent confession of being an alien. While trying to remember the three phrases his father told him, Lois sends him the third phrase in a text message, showing him she is there for him.
At Watchtower, Chloe, Tess, Clark and Lois discuss about Earth-2, which was presumably annihilated by the Monitors, and Clark wonders what crime could that Earth have committed to deserve to merit annihilation. Chloe says everything she knows about the alternate Earth and the Monitors but also informs them that the memories, that were transported to her from her doppelgänger never actually took root and she only gets fleeting glimpses. Tess informs them that Lex is preparing his jet to visit Moscow and Lois thinks of a way to sneak in as a press attaché and go to Russia with Lex so she can keep an eye on him. Clark then says he has a better idea and the proceeds to communicate with another member of the team, asking for a favor.
Much later, Lois, Chloe, Clark and Tess read an article on the Daily Planet, tilted "The New Cold War" and written by Cat Grant, presenting Superman as a threat and even stating that the Monitor's ship was actually his. Lois is furious with Cat's article and gets even more angry because of the fact that Franklin Stern didn't publish her story about the murder in Gotham. Clark says that they have bigger problems to worry about as the danger of the "Crisis" hasn't passed yet. Suddenly Bruce appears and says that even though he knew that the man in Gotham wasn't actually Clark he is happy to see him standing on his feet. Moreover he says that because of the "Crisis" he has decided to join the team, at least temporarily, so they can face the threat together.
Some time later, Clark and Lois step out of the cinema, where they just watched a brand new superhero film. While they talk about the movie and the crisis, that still concerns Clark, a green light suddenly appears the sky. Seeing its trajectory and speed makes Clark worry for a possible attack. Clark can not tell what the object, wrapped in the green glow, is so he throws Lois on an abandoned old sofa in the street, when he realizes that the unknown object goes straight against him. Hit by the light, Clark is surrounded by green light and sees before him the projection of a being, who identifies himself as the Green Lantern, Tomar-Re. The alien says to Clark that if he is seeing him, it is because he has received his ring and his duty. Together they recite the oath of the Green Lanterns and when the light fades, Clark is revealed, wearing a green and black costume along with a glowing ring on his finger, which welcomes him to the Green Lantern Corps.
Clark tries using his heat vision and arctic breath in attempt to remove the ring while Lois is contacting Emil Hamilton at S.T.A.R. Labs for help. As Clark attempts to remove the ring, various constructs in the form of a jackhammer, a crowbar and a plunger appears which a confused Lois refers to as ghost props. A relieved Clark finally is able to remove it and throw it into the atmosphere where Emil begins to track it. As he does the ring makes a U-Turn back to Earth to Clark's finger which Clark flies to catch. Clark then hears a loud siren coming from Metropolis National Bank where he goes to intervene, telling Lois to inform Emil that they should worry about his wardrobe change later.
At Watchtower, John Stewart tells Clark that this isn't how it works, the rings are powered by the willpower of their wearers which is why they choose people like himself, Kyle Rayner and Hal Jordan as Green Lantern Corps members. Lois and Tess disbelieve that John has a stronger will than them or any other of the 6 billion people on Earth, with Tess even wondering how did someone like Alan Scott got hold of one of their rings, with John admitting he doesn't know what loophole Alan used to get a ring of his own. Clark then questions what gives a Guardian or whoever is left the right to force other sentient beings into service. John says it doesn't matter, orders are orders and Superman is a soldier now.
At her office in the Daily Planet, Lois and Oliver see a bright green light and realize that Clark is fighting something. Oliver asks her if she is worried about him and Lois says why should she be afraid, he is Superman after all.
After Superman and the Lanterns stop Parallax, Clark is reunited with Lois, who asks his help to cover the latest breaking story: Green Arrow's return to crime-fighting.
In Antarctica, Lois is touring a Higgs Boson supercollider facility created by the combined efforts of Michael Holt and Ted Kord, with the financial assistance of Bruce Wayne. Sadly, things don't go as planned for Kord and Holt, because when the scientists start the experiment, a violent gateway opens pulling everyone and everything into the Bleed, the rift between parallel universe, with Lois clinging to a railing. Superman arrives in time to catch her just before the vortex pulls her in, but they're both caught in the rift just before it closes thanks to Holt.
In a parallel Earth, Superman and Lois emerge from the wormhole to find themselves in a destroyed Metropolis under siege by the Monitors. Superman takes Lois and they fly to a higher ground. Lois asks if they time-traveled but Clark says the rift they fell through was just like the one Chloe from Earth-2 crashed through. Clark then asks Lois why is she whispering and she says that this exactly the kind of place where you whisper, while also showing to him a man in a red and white costume, bound to the top of a building, similar to that of Daily Planet. Clark realizes they are lost in the Multiverse and Lois asks how are they going to return back but Clark says he doesn't know if they will, starring at the sky, which is full of the Monitors' ships.
Superman and Lois are fighting some Manhunters, who are chasing them so they can kill them. After destroying some of them, Superman takes Lois and fly away escaping. Lois puzzles over why the Manhunters were hunting them given the fact that the Green Lanterns are their usual opponents but Clark says these robots were running on Bleed instead of Lantern energy, suggesting that the Monitors probably use them to deal with the "supers" and "metas" of each Earth while they move their ships into firing position. Lois then wonders where all the people of this Earth have gone and Clark after hearing some of them with his super-hearing heads to a church nearby.
They enter the church and they find a group of people hiding in there and one of them, whom Clark identifies as the Jimmy Olsen of this Earth but in fact he is called Hank, tells them to immediately leave as according to him the "capes" are the reason most of the civilians are dead. Suddenly, the Lois Lane of this Earth appears among the people and tells Hank that they should let them stay because there is nowhere else they can go. A shocked Lois looks at her doppelganger while Superman asks her what happened. Majestic-Lois says that she watched the Manhunters murder Mister Majestic, the superhero who was Majestic-Lois' lover and whose body was bound to the top of a building, along with every other hero. Superman then asks how did it started and Majestic-Lois explains that the Monitors put one ship on each side of the planet and they did something to Earth's core and it's only a matter of time until they destroy this Earth once and for all. Suddenly, the ships above Metropolis begin to fire and a worried Lois tells to Clark they need to get out of there immediately, in which he agrees.
Not being able to do anything more, Superman takes a shocked Lois and fly away, telling her this Earth also had a Kryptonian, in the form of Mister Majestic, and there is chance that his father built him an ice castle too. They then set off in search of this earth's equivalent of the Fortress of Solitude, as it is their only option.
Superman flies with Lois, trying to escape the Bleed that is destroying everything in its path. Superman hopes that the Fortress can send them back to their Earth like it did with Clark Luthor. They reach the Fortress of Solitude, but this universe's Jor-El is less than welcoming as he does not recognize Superman as his son, calling him an impostor, because he knows that he is already dead. Jor-El then locks Superman inside a golden crystal and Lois steps forward trying to reason with him, saying that he is making a mistake. Jor-El is surprised and asks her who is she who dares to question him and she says that she is Lois Lane.
While Superman is imprisoned inside the golden crystal, the huge wave of Bleed approaches the Fortress, devouring everything in its path. After arguing with him, Lois manages to convince Jor-El to release Superman and help them travel to another parallel universe. Jor-El tells to Lois everything he knows about the multiverse but he says he can not guarantee them they are going to end up back at their Earth and also asks her if she can take him with them as well. Lois says that they will take their chances in order to survive and then agrees to take Jor-El with them. Jor-El then downloads his consciousness in a crystal and teleports everyone somewhere else, moments before this Earth gets devoured by the Bleed.
Superman and Lois, along with Jor-El's crystal, wake up on another parallel Earth, that's not in much better shape than the one they just left. This earth was attacked and seized by Apokolips and the two planets have collided with each other, leaving everything destroyed with wrecked Manhunters and skeletons of dead people with the Omega symbol on their forehead on the streets among the ruins.
Upon returning to Lois, who has found a ship that might be still working, they have a brief moment of weakness in which Lois admits to him that seeing the amount of devastation upon these worlds caused by the Monitors, is almost too much to bear and she's worried about their own Earth. Superman reassures her he would do whatever it takes to insure that their Earth won't suffer the same fate. Suddenly Superman hears a very faint sound, similar to a heartbeat so together with Lois they head towards its source to find out what exactly it is.
Superman and Lois eventually discover the source of the noise Clark heard. A dark figure calls to him from the rubble, saying on his Earth, Superman was known as Clark Kent. When Superman asks the figure how he know this, the figure turns and says they have fought each other in the past on Clark's native universe, and indicates that Superman had defeated him. The figure then reveals himself as Darkseid in his materialized form, saying that he never forgets a face.
Superman and Lois talk to Darkseid. Superman then offers a deal to Darkseid, to help them board on one of the Monitors' ships flying overhead, and in return Clark will also give him something. Darkseid accepts the offer so, while Superman carries Lois and follows the Monitors' ship into the atmosphere, he fires his Omega beams towards the ship, opening its side door so Superman and Lois can get inside it just before the ship enters the Bleed. Once inside, they lay low while Monitors investigate the duo's forced entry, unaware that stowaways have entered the ship and fearing of Bleed contamination. They then proceed to go in search of a room called the "Orrery". Lois is concerned about the deal they made with Darkseid but Clark says he couldn't leave her behind.
In Bleed space, Superman and Lois search for their Earth among a large number of dead ones. Lois places her hand in a machine that recognizes in which one she belongs and they find out that their home is still unharmed. Suddenly a Monitor appears, calling himself a Weaver, who has been trained since birth to manipulate the Bleed as a weapon, and declares that he is going to kill them like Superman killed one of their architects, Ray-Lan. Superman says to Lois he will try to make the Weaver hurt himself, as the Bleed can probably hurt him too. Just then, three more Weavers appear and they say that no one else from the multiple Earths has ever get aboard a Monitor's ship. Together, they render Superman unconscious. After Superman loses his senses and the Monitors take both him and Lois to a holding cell, until the Council decides their fate. After that, Superman wakes up and they suddenly start hearing a very familiar voice. That voice belongs to Lex Luthor, who suggests the Monitors, rather than razing his universe, simply "reboot" it.
The Monitors listen to Lex's proposal to reboot the universe. Superman interrupts his proposal, saying that what he is proposing is madness. Lex is surprised to see that Superman and Lois are still alive, as he was wondering where have they ended up. Lois calls him a monster but Lex insists he's the only one actually trying to save the world by reasoning with the Monitors. The Monitors end the transmission, saying they have much to discuss. Lois is shocked when she learns that the Monitors are actually going to consider Lex's offer. The Monitors then recognize Superman as the person who killed Ray-Lan, so they decide to sentence both of them to death so they won't be able to interfere again in their plans. They intend to kill Superman and Lois by jettisoning them into the Bleed, as no one can survive it, not even the Monitors. Superman says he can get them out of this situation, but Lois will have to trust him and let the Monitors kill him first.
Superman allows himself to be put into a chamber, which the Monitors flood with Bleed. A tearful Lois watches him being expelled from the Monitors' vessel. However, despite the rigors of Bleed Space, Superman manages to return to the ship and force his way back in. He reenters just as Lois is about to be expelled from the ship as well. Just as a Monitor is ready to expel Lois, an alarm starts ringing. The Monitors leave to deal with the Bleed overload in the ship and Lois finds the chance to race to the lifeboats, but unfortunately she meets a group of Monitors on the way. Upon seeing her, the Monitors comment, they have underestimated their prisoners and Lois, raising her fists, responds, "You bet our ass you did."
Seven years later in 2018, a mild-mannered Clark bumped into Lois and she told him that nobody was watching them before asking if he had their wedding rings. Lois also asked if he was ready and he said that he was ready for seven years, excited to finally have an official wedding ceremony. Just then, they were alerted to the fact that a bomb had been found in an elevator uptown. Clark mentioned he'd be a few minutes late to the ceremony, to which Lois said she would be waiting for him as she encouraged him to go off and save the day as he headed towards the roof to save the day as Superman.
Prior to the beginning of their relationship, both Lois and Clark have been in a variety of sexually-suggestive situations and have seen each other completely in the nude. These situations usually serve to add a certain amount of hilarity to their interactions.

In the Superman universe, Lois Lane is the true love and soul mate of Clark Kent. In current comics, Clark immediately had strong feelings for Lois upon meeting her. He persistently courted her and she eventually discovered that she loved him as well. The relationship eventually culminated with the two characters getting married. Currently, they remain married and even at one point adopted Lor-Zod (General Zod and Ursa's child) as their son who was renamed Christopher Kent.
Eventually Lois does conceive. Clark and her are blessed with a child of the own whom they named "Jonathan "Samuel" Kent in honor of his paternal adoptive grandfather, Jonathan Kent (deceased), and his middle name comes from his maternal grandfather, Sam Lane. While Jon resemble Clark, his personality is very much that of his mother Lois' spitfire attitude and inquisitiveness. Jon is half Kryptonian/Human and as he continues to grow so does his powers and abilities, he has taken on the family business under the guide of "Superboy".
In the Superman feature films, Clark and Lois worked together and Lois likes Clark as a friend, but is in love with Superman. She later extends her feelings to Clark after she discovered his true identity. However, in the storyline continued by the latest film, Superman Returns, Lois has moved on to another relationship although clearly still in love with Superman, while Clark is almost exclusively Superman, fulfilling his destiny to save the Earth. However, in this film, Lois has a son, Jason, who bears certain similarities to Clark and it is heavily implied that he is indeed Clark's son from a previous sexual encounter between Lois and Superman.
In the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman the relationship with Lois is the prominent relationship Clark has, as the name suggests. She discovers the fact that he is Superman in the end of the second season, shortly before he proposes. They get married and adopt a child sent to them from New Krypton.
Originally Because Smallville is its own continuity although Clark and Lois' future romance was hinted and forshardowed, it was unclear if Lois and Clark would end up together like in the comics, or tragically end up apart like in the previous feature film franchise. In a recent interview Dana explained that originally "the nickname was meant to be Lois's clever way of insulting Clark due to the fact that she sees him as an inexperienced farmboy who had no business in the big city as a reporter and would be better off returning to his home town. However the writers change it to be a playful nickname to mask Lois's hidden feelings she had been developing for Clark. She'd refer to him as 'Kent' when she was serious and 'Smallville' as playful banter which worked out so well that it was incorporated into the comics as the official pet name".

[Naked Clark turns to face Lois] [to herself] Look at his face... [Despite her efforts, Lois' eyes lower slightly] I have a blanket in the trunk. Don't move. I'll be right back.
- Clark: Wait. Who are you?
- Lois: Lois. Lois Lane.
- Lois: You're amazing, Smallville. You always look for the best in people even when they walk all over you.
- Clark: I guess that explains why we're friends.
- Lois: Oh, we're friends now?
- Clark: Well, I won’t tell anyone if you don't.
- Lois: Clark? Look, I'm not great at this, so just keep your mouth shut and listen up. Even though I was kicking butt on the helicopter, it was really nice to have backup. And you didn't have to come after me, but you always do. So I wanted to say thank you. You're a really good friend. Oh, and, uh, about the lap dance. If you decide to tell anybody about it, your Elmur Fudd night light will make a very public appearance.
- Lois: (to Lana) Look, I don't know what's going on, but I would be lucky to end up with someone as honorable as Clark some day.
- Lois: Why can't I just meet a decent guy from a decent family who happens not to be a psychopath?
- Martha: Oh, Lois. You know... when I was your age, I wasn't dating Prince Charmings either.
- Lois: Really?
- Martha: Yeah. I used to attract the dark, mysterious type, too, until I met Jonathan.
- Lois: See, what worries me is that when my Jonathan finally does come around, I'll be looking the other way, and I'll miss him completely.
- Martha: Well, you have to keep a closer watch. You know, I think we go through these bad relationships for a reason.
- Lois: Well, if there's a good reason for all the pain and aggravation, I'm dying to know.
- Martha: Maybe you have to get through all the wrong men so you can recognize the right one.
- Lois: Look sometimes you gotta tuck your feelings away until it's the right time. Like stuffing dollars into a piggy bank for a bike you can't quite afford.
- Clark: Except, I can't quite imagine there is anyone else out there.
- Lois: Well, you never know, Clark. Maybe when you finally crack open that piggy bank you'll find that all this time you haven't been saving for a bike, you've really been saving for a Harley.
- Clark: ...You know, there are times when I think you don't know me at all, and others where I think you know me better than anyone.
- Lois: That's what I'm here for, Smallville – one save at a time.
- Oliver: (to Clark about Lois) If I lived under the same roof with such a beautiful woman, I probably would've masked my feelings in sarcasm, too.
- Lois: Well, he [Clark] was holding me in his arms. And Ollie's a good kisser, don't get me wrong, but that Green Arrow [Clark], he could teach Ollie a thing or two.
- Jimmy: Lois was all alone, and... then it hit me. Lois and Clark.
- Chloe: Lois and Clark?
- Jimmy: You gotta admit, they got chemistry.
- Chloe: So do nitro glycerin and peroxide and I don't suggest putting them together.
- Bizarro: (to Lois about her, referring to Clark) Man, how can a guy miss what's been right in front of him all this time?
- Lois: Smallville, you were there for me when I needed a shoulder to cry on, and I am blowing this big-time. Look, I-I just wish I could make everything all right.
- Clark: You're a good friend, Lois.
- Lois: Who? Smallville? Look I don't know who or what you are, but you've got it all wrong, lady. There is nothing romantic between Lois and Clark.
- Maxima: You have a deep connection to him; I felt it.
- Lois: Then your radar's on the fritz. ‘Cause even on a good day, we're barely friends.
- Maxima: He never would have been able to pull away from me if he wasn't drawn by his attraction to you.
- Lois: Look, he's about as attracted to me as a Red Sox fan to the Yankees.
- Maxima: You may not know it yet, but believe me there's a bond. And I could see it on your face when you caught us together, you feel it, too.
- Macy: You must really care about her; storming in here. It's very gallant of you.
- Lois: Yeah, he's stupid that way.
- Macy: Deep down, underneath it all, do you love this man?
- Clark: Just answer the question, Lois. Don't over think it. Just tell the truth.
- Macy: Do you love him? (Lois begins to shake and breathe sharply)
- Clark: Lois, just tell the truth.
- Macy: Do you love him?
- Lois: [begins to cry] Yes...
- Lois: I thought, just for minute, that someone needed me.
- Oliver: Oh I'm sure he needs you Lois.
- Lois: That's sweet of you to say, but how do you know?
- Oliver: Because I know Clark.
- Lois: How can someone with X-ray vision be so blind? I've been down the hero road before. And every time, I made a giant u-turn. But this... this was different.
- Clark: And this time, it will be different, Lois. When I do this, no one's gonna remember who I am.
- Lois: And when you hit your reset button... you're not gonna tell me your secret, are you?
- Clark: I'm sorry.
- Lois: That's okay. Why should I think I'm special? Clark... I understand.
- Clark: Lois, you don't understand. It's because you are special.
- Lois: But I do remember seeing a whole new side of Clark Kent.
- Clark: Which side was that?
- Lois: I'll give you a hint. It starts with "H" and ends with "ero."
- Lois: The truth is... we could all die tomorrow.
- Clark: Lois, I died when you left.
- Lois: I'm here now. (they kiss and make love)
- Clark: You can lean on me for strength. I feel stronger when you're around, anyway.
- Lois: Clark, I've done this dating thing wrong so many times.
- Clark: Then let's do it right. We'll take our time.
- Clark: You know, Lois, we could go back to the farm and take a walk. I could give you Clark Kent's tour of the galaxy.
- Lois: Smallville, the only planet you know about is the one you read at the breakfast table.
- Clark: I promise, we'll be together. Always and...
- Lois: Forever? Do you mean it?
- Clark: I do.
- Clark: (to Lois) My whole life has been full of relationships that have ended to soon. And then when I went away last fall, I... Lois, I felt so lost. When I came back to the bullpen... you were there waiting for me. You jumped out of your seat, you threw your arms around me, and the way that your eyes sparkled when you smiled, I just... I knew. I just knew that you were the one that I've always needed. And I needed you to know that.
- Clark: All my life I've been afraid, Lois. Afraid of people knowing the truth about me. Afraid of them rejecting me, and even if they didn't, still losing them. I've been afraid of everything I can't control. But when I was faced with the idea of losing you forever, it made me realize there's something I'd regret more than anything else, and that's not telling you the truth about me. 'Cause that's the only way we could share a life together. I know the odds are stacked against us and we'd be risking everything, but if you're ready to take that leap, there's no one else that I'd want to take that leap with. Lois, you've had a lot of questions about The Blur, it's me. I'm The Blur.
- Lois: (jumps on Clark, kissing him) What took you so long?
- Clark: (confused) What? You...
- Clark: (to Lois) I want you to know me completely, with no secrets. Because you’re the One… you always will be.
- Clark: (to Same Lane about Lois) It may be your right! But you're wrong to think we don't belong together. I love your daughter, and I don't want another day to go by where I'm not with her.
- Clark: (to Earth-2 Lois after telling her is from a different universe) You can always tell when I'm lying, You can see right through me, straight to my soul...to my heart. I can't live in a world where you don't love me.
- Clark (proposing engagement to Lois): You don't make it easy to ask a simple question. But that's what makes you...you. The woman I want to spend my life with. The woman that I love. Lois Lane, will you marry me?
- Lois (After a slight pause): Yes.
- Clark: (to Lois) Lois, if you're watching this 20 years from now...You are the love of my life!
- Clark: It's just sometime I forget you never saw what it was like. Growing up, being different, feeling like an outsider, a freak. Like you were all alone.
- Lois: You turned out pretty normal.
- Clark: Lois, you don't understand. It never goes away. It's always in there. The only thing that's ever made me feel... normal is you.
- Clark: Lois, I’ve been trying to hold on to things that used to protect me. This farm, my parents. I’ve known we should be moving to Metropolis for a while now. I guess, I was afraid that I’ll lose myself if I let it all go.
- Lois: Clark, I would never let that happen.
- Clark: I’ve been worried that, if we didn’t have this place to come home to, then we’d lose each other. This place grounds us. But maybe that was just an excuse for me not to, not to move on. It’s not the place that makes the home.
- Lois: Smallville is my home Clark. Not this one. This Smallville, right here. You are all I ever need. And if you need to Metropolis because that's who the world needs you to be, then a studio apartment with rusty pipes is just fine for me.
- Lois: (wedding vows to Clark) I wanted these vows to be perfect, but perfection's a hard thing to get your hands on. But life is meant to be a little messy. And when it comes to love, it's like my dad always said when it comes to the army. You only sign up if it's the only thing you can ever imagine doing, and Clark I can not imagine spending a moment of my life without you, so I promise that I will always have your back as you will always have mine. You're my best friend, you're my home, you are my true love and I am yours and will be forever.
- Clark: (wedding vows to Lois) I, Clark Kent, take you, Lois Lane, to be my companion, forever. With you by my side I will never be alone. Though the world sees a strong and independent woman, I've never known someone with such gentle grace and more pure heart. When I've been lost you've always been there to bring me back, so on this day, at this moment, I pledge the rest of my life to you. You've always believed in me, and I believe in you. When you believe in someone it's not for a minute, or just for now, it's forever.
