Summary

Lex Luthor needs help, and there’s only one man for the job. And that man is…Otis? Meanwhile, Clark finally makes contact with S.T.A.R. Labs, and Emil has some information that may make the fight against the Monitor survivable.

Recap

OBSM-A-10

Otis is worried about Lex.

In the Russian military base, Otis remains concerned about his boss, who still does not answer his phone, and wonders what he can do for him. Suddenly, he sees one of the armors of the Rocket Reds and an idea came to his mind.

Ray-Lan prepares to execute Lex.

Meanwhile, Lex is diving into the frozen lake trying to reach Clark, but another shot coming from the Monitor hits Clark and makes him sink deeper in the water, making him unreachable. Luckily for Clark, Lex couldn't reach him and so he did not see his Superman costume inside the shreds of his civilian clothes. Ray-Lan grabs Lex from the icy water, throws him on the snow and says to him that he will end up dead like Clark because he does not deserve to witness the majesty of the final destruction of this Earth. Lex, who is suffering from hypothermia, asks Ray-Lan to answer him just one question for himself, why does he hate Superman so much and why, though his memories are gone, he still feels that terrible hatred for him when he sees the "S" on his chest.

Superman attacks Ray-Lan, saving Lex's life.

Ray-Lan does not have the time to answer Lex's question as Superman appears and attacks the Monitor, throwing him far away in the forest. Because of his hypothermia, Lex has fainted and Superman lights a fire around him to warm his body. He then rises above the clouds to recharge himself with solar energy.

Smallville - Alien 010-021

Superman heads to Ray-Lan's ship.

While regaining his strength, Superman communicates with Emil and Tess at the Watchtower, who explain to him why they believe the Monitor can hurt him without the help of any kind of kryptonite or red solar radiation. They say that the Monitors are beings outside the laws governing their universe, their energy is not governed by the physical laws of our own, which also makes Superman vulnerable to their attacks. Emil tells Clark to seek help from Supergirl but he refuses because as he says if the Monitor can hurt him, he can hurt Kara too. Clark then descends and gets ready to face his enemy once again improvising.

Batman versus Batman.

Batman defeats and arrests his alternate self.

In Gotham, Batman fights with his alternate self from another Earth, and the fight seemingly ends in draw but surprisingly the alternate Batman overpowers him. Nightwing intervenes but she gets stabbed in the belly by the villain, who tells her that he also killed the Barbara Gordon of his world, and this causes the wrath of Batman, which he needed to beat his opponent. The alternate Batman confesses that he killed the Clark of his world, who was found dead in Gotham, because Clark discovered his identity and revealed it to the police. The alternate Batman then asks Batman if there is an Arkham Asylum on this world and tells him to better kill him now and not take him there but Batman responds by saying he doesn't kill because of what happened to his parents and his alternate self says that he killed his. After Batman makes sure Nightwing, who is heading back to the Batmobile, is okay he arrests the villain.

Ray-Lan watches as his ship is being destroyed while Otis saves Luthor.

In Russia, Ray-Lan remotely controls his ship but Superman swoops down and destroys his arm cannon. Lex tells Superman to kill the Monitor or else his peers will keep coming. Superman tells him that's not his style and then flies directly into the beam of the ship, using it against itself and destroys it. As he falls, the ship causes a great explosion throwing shrapnel and fire, but fortunately Otis, wearing an armor of the Rocket Reds that he "borrowed", intervenes and saves Lex. When Clark falls from the sky, wounded and blistered by passing through the beam of the ship, he sees Ray-Lan lying dead among the rubble, impaled by a metal rod on his chest. Regretfully, Superman apologizes and closes the corpse's eyes.

Clark visits Lex in the hospital.

Lex wakes up in a bed in Metropolis General with Clark sitting in a chair beside him. Lex is shocked to see him alive, and Clark explains that Superman saved him from drowning and warmed his body in the same way he did with Lex's. Luthor apologizes for dragging him to Russia in his expedition, but Clark says he volunteered. Even though Lex still struggles with his memory, some things are becoming clear to him. They also talk about Lex's ego and obsession being obstacles in saving the world.

Bruce joins the team.

Later in the Watchtower, Lois, Chloe, Clark and Tess read an article on the Daily Planet, written by Cat Grant, presenting Superman as a threat and even stating that the Monitor's ship was actually his. Lois is furious with Cat's article and gets even more angry because of the fact that Franklin Stern didn't publish her story about the murder in Gotham. Clark says that they have bigger problems to worry about as the danger of the "Crisis" hasn't passed yet. Suddenly Bruce Wayne appears and says that even though he knew that the man in Gotham wasn't actually Clark he is happy to see him standing on his feet. Moreover he says that because of the "Crisis" he has decided to join the team, at least temporarily, so they can face the threat together.

At the team's base on Mars, Martian Manhunter oversees some of their prisoners, with Batman's doppelganger being among them.

Diana finds out that something is missing.

In D.E.O.'s headquarters, Dr. Emil Hamilton performs an autopsy on the Monitor's body, while Director Steve Trevor observes. On the same time, Diana Prince examines the Monitor's equipment and informs Trevor that an item is missing. This apparent comms device which was present at the scene, was somehow lost and nobody knows where it might have gone.

At LexCorp, Lex, Otis and a scientist connect the comms device, which was stolen by Lex with a radio station to launch a powerful message to the multiverse: "To all my counterparts residing in what my people have called the multiverse, my apologies for joining the party this late. My name is Lex Luthor and I think it's time for a little chat. "
