Talk:Lana Lang
From Smallville Wiki
[edit] badly written
The grammar of this article is badly written in several places.
Also, this sentence from the season six section clearly has a mistake in it somewhere: "It was at that time that he let her know that she's been watching him."

Lana's page is protected from anonymous edits because it is the subject of frequent vandalism. If you wish to edit the page, you must log in or create a Username. Contact the Admins with any questions. Marikology 17:52, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
This page has a lot of information and has the potential to be a good page, but the cleanup tag will remain on this page until it meets the standards of the other character pages without a cleanup tag. Specific things that need to be improved:
- Plot summary needs to be in past tense throughout the page.
- The page needs thorough and detailed copy-editing. It is full of grammatical errors, capitalization errors, spelling errors and poor syntax.
- Pictures need to be realigned so as to not interfere with the subheadings. Captions need to be complete sentences with correct punctuation.
- All non-neutral sections need to be reworded or removed.
Please do not remove the cleanup tag until these standards are met. Marikology 04:36, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Personality
I worked on the personality section and while I believe what I wrote is true, I'm aware it has a negative tone. It would be nice if a more objective obsever put some of Lana's nice/positive personality traits into the first paragraph because I can't think of any more. Marikology 06:57, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
I updated lana's personality and i wonder if lanas page can be left to her fans because while reading i realized people were putting mean and untrue things on them. [clana4life55]
- The only reason I edit it is because Lana's fans don't. She's second-billed on the show but parts of her page are a wreck and I think to have the second-most important character have such a substandard article really makes the whole site look bad. I might write things that are negative but at least they're written well. I'm really glad you're around, clana, because I think your updates to Lana's page are important. Just remember that all the character's pages list their negative traits as well-- afterall nobody's perfect. Marikology 04:06, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notes
In an attempt to clean up this page and organize in a fashion similar to the pages on Clark and Chloe, I'm making some notes: one sentence about whatever Lana does in each episode. -Samantha's Mom 04:16, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lana Lang not Dead
I have read SEVERAL things on Kryptonsite.com about Lana's death being faked. According to posters on the Kryptonsite forums who saw Kristen Kreuk on set of Fierce, Tom Welling who said that Lana was not dead and Clana would be back, and she is reportedly going to be in a least half of the episodes, for example, in Wrath, Clark's powers become Lana's in a transference, thus, she IS NOT DEAD. Either you guys disbelieve everything that has been said, or you chose to see her alive in the premiere or Kara, go ahead and wait. But if not, I think we should change Lana's status to alive, and Chloe's status should be alive also. Just a thought and enjoy Season 7! - User:Vezz801
- I know she's not dead, but the policy of the wiki is to reflect what was seen on the show, not what spoilers say, even if they are right. In the last episode anybody saw, the characters on the show stated and thougth she was dead. Her (and Chloe's) status will be changed when it changes on the show. Why does this seem like such a hard concept for people to understand?Marikology
i agree, lana should be left as presumed deceased untill its revealed shes not(and we know shes not) [clana4life55]
She is shown in China at the ending of the episode Phantom. She was Wearing a blonde wig.
Yeah, we knew she was alive as soon as Kryptonsite posted the first spoiler for Kara back in July. Oh, and the episode was Bizarro, not Phantom. Phantom was the previous episode. (Season 6, May 16, 2007) Lana WILL appear in Kara (the next episode) when she is found by Lex's Men. - User:Vezz801
[edit] Dropped out of Met U?
I was working on the Met U article, and realized that after the Met U dorms were destroyed on Dark Thursday... I don't remember seeing Lana going Met U anymore. Did she drop out after the Limbo Drug thing? I don't remember her dropping out but I also don't remember seeing her going to class lately... --Kanamekun 05:02, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- I remember a dialogue between Lex and Lana in Sneeze and it was confirmed that Lana would go on with studying at Met U when the university is restored.--
- Dva 20:47, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Besides her mentioning to Lex that the dorms were closed, there was no on-screen indication that Lana (or Clark) attended college at all during Season 6 or anytime afterward. Marikology 02:02, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yah altho Clark did say that he "kinda dropped out" at some point. Ok I'll dig up the Sneeze quote and see if it sheds light on her educational status! ps man, Clark dropped out of CKU... Lois got kicked out of Met U... Lana dropped out of Met U... Lex is the only one who has graduated from college so far! --Kanamekun 02:20, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Here's the quote from Sneeze:
- Lex: You know, for someone about to change addresses, you're traveling pretty light.
- Lana: Yeah, well, I don't need a lot. It's only temporary. They think the school should reopen by next semester.
- I don't think she went back though. She faked her death, moved to Shanghai, moved back to Smallville, founded the Isis Foundation, became catatonic, and moved away from Smallville. And all that time, she never mentioned school or was seen studying. So I think it's safe to say that she's dropped out. Maybe she'll use her time away from Smallville to finish her degree... --Kanamekun 16:54, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- Here's the quote from Sneeze:
[edit] Clean up?
I think we can get rid of the clean up sign. Lanas page is very good now since the writers are actually making her interesting now. LOL
[edit] Lex Luthor's ex-wife
It looks like some people (a person?) doesn't like the phrase "Lex Luthor's ex-wife" in the first sentence.
What do you guys think of rewriting the first sentence a bit? I reread it, and it defines Lana in terms of her relationships. On the one hand, that's always been a bit of a problem with the writing for Lana (she hasn't always had her own arc; one exception was Season 4 when she was possessed by a witch). On the other hand, I tried to add some sentences to her opening paragraph that emphasize her entrepreneurial background. She renovated the Talon! That's huge... that changed the social scene in Smallville. And despite using the Isis Foundation to spy on Lex, she did create a non-profit organization to help meteor-infected people... that's pretty impressive.
I like our opening for Chloe: "Chloe Anne Sullivan is a journalism student at Metropolis University and Clark Kent's closest friend. She currently interns for the Daily Planet." I like how it emphasizes what Chloe does, and then defines her relationship with Clark (confession: I added that stuff about journalism at Met U and the DP).
I've been noticing that a number of the female character pages emphasize their relationships with male characters, rather than their own accomplishments. I tried to tweak Martha Kent's page a little while back, to reflect her own accomplishments. I know we think of her just as Clark's mom, but she ran a farm and also is a US Senator! (Altho to be honest, her Senatorship isn't as key to the show so it ended up at the end of her first sentence: "Senator Martha Clark Kent is the widow of the late Jonathan Kent, adoptive mother of Clark Kent, and US Senator for the state of Kansas.")
I'd love to do the same with Lana... but the problem is, how would we describe Lana without putting in terms of other people on the show? --Kanamekun 18:28, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- I presume it keeps getting removed because the user feels like it takes away from her relationship with Clark somehow. But it underlies a huge problem with Lana as a character: she *is* defined by her relationships, which is not an opinion, it's how the show portrays her. She always has to have a mate that is (usually suddenly) intregal to the plot, and she bases all of her actions on her relationships. I think it's not POV to reflect this in her opening sentence because that is how the show portrays her. Marikology 19:46, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Object of Desire
Since we have a list of her near-death experiences, how about a list of all those who have developed an obsessive crush and stalked/kidnapped Lana? --Noclevername 06:13, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sounds like it's worth trying out! Although could it be handled as a bullet point on "Lana Lang's near-death experiences"? In any case, if you're ever not sure on whether to create a page - you can always try it at as a sub-page on your user page... then ask for feedback and move it into the main namespace if people like it. --Kanamekun 15:01, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Lana Lang is not merely Catatonic
I noticed that you removed "Braniac induced Anesthesia Awareness" from the character info box under status. What Lana Lang is suffering from is not catatonia, which is more akin to a mental disease. It is much more like Anesthesia awareness given Braniac's description of what he did to her. She is fully aware of what is going on. Describing her as Catatonic is at best an understatement. Given the pain she is in she probably wishes to be catatonic.Hunter2005 08:00, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I completely agree, but the Status value on the template is really meant to be just one or two words, (mostly for aestetics and simplicity), so that's why I moved your link anddescription to the intro paragraph, so more details could be added. I think it's clearly visible and covers all the details. Marikology 14:28, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Why Lana status is descesed?
Why Lana status is descesed? She is not dead.. RoR-El 10:50, 06 December 2008 (UTC)
- Beause it's vandalism, i just fixed it. Elbutler 14:48, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Kryptonite Infection
Why doesn't Clark at least TRY to use the fortress to heal her?
- I wondered that myself, but if he does, what would make him fall for Lois? In addition, he could have used the legion ring as well (before he destroyed it, of curse). Dudyk 02:19, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
I know this may sound crazy, but if there's a chance Bizzaro's going to reappear, he's going to try to get to Lana. And if he does, he could drain the Kryptonite from her. --Thejluninja 01:50, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Possible Future
When Lana came into contact with Jordan Cross, a metahuman with the power of precognition, he saw a vision of Lana as an old woman dying peacefully in her bed, still wearing her kryptonite necklace. In this vision Lana was seen holding hands with an unidentified old man, obviously her future husband, however his face was not seen so it is unknown who he is. It was later seen that Jordan's visions of people's deaths are not 100% accurate and that they can be changed, making this vision only a possible future and not a definite one.[edit] hi this is circelina
