[edit] Is he really dead

I know that he truck exploded and he was obviously in there, but in the comics Lex is practically half the story. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas how he might have lived.

he will be back eventually

I'm betting on clones showing up again in the near future since in the comics, when Doomsday showed up and killed Superman, Lex had already been cloned and Superman was cloned 3 times plus Lex already has an entire warehouse full of clone bodies

In Comic Con 2009 the executive producers confirmed he's not dead. So should he go back to whereabouts unkown?

The wiki goes by what's been shown on the show, not outside sources... so we'll wait til Lex comes back to life, then mark him as alive again! --208.82.13.202 02:11, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
I've been thinking about this, and it's possible that the flash of light we see just as Lex 'dies' could be from one of his viewing screens. Oliver may have only blown up a decoy truck and Lex witnessed the explosion through a camera that was in that truck, or something. It's also possible that the Lex who died was just a clone. Or perhaps neither scenario is correct and Lex really is dead. Guess only time will tell! 203.206.51.56 15:28, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Lex Luthor riding around the streets of Metropolis in the back of an unguarded semi. The notion is laughable. HA! HA HA! He's not dead.

You must log in or register to edit this page. This page is limited to editing by registered users only to prevent addition of speculation on Lex's state and whereabouts. It has not been stated or revealed onscreen that the bald figure in Bride is indeed Lex Luthor, of if he is even alive, so stating this on his page is considered speculation. Continually adding such speculation is considered vandalism. Speculation is welcome here or on the Talk:Bride page or on individual userpages only. Please contact an Admin if you have any questions. [edit] Background info

  • According to this site- [1] the LuthorCorp website originally included information about Lex like it currently does for Lionel, but it's not available anymore. Apparently, he graduated from Yale too. Is it appropriate to put this on Lex's page if the information is not readily available? Is this mentioned anywhere else that can be used as a source? Marikology 04:01, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
    • It looks like the information is still available on warnerbros2.com through the Google cache: [2] Given that, the information in the linked screenshot above looks credible and accurate. --Kanamekun 02:20, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! In that case, I will add it to his page. Marikology 05:06, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Focus on Descent

I think Lex Luthor is the most interesting character of this series because he is the most dynamic. He starts out as a basically good guy and ends up a evil criminal mastermind. I'm hoping this article can be edited to focus on this descent (rather than just listing one thing after another). I've only seen the first two seasons so far, so I shall limit my contributions to those sections for the time being. -Samantha's Mom 04:02, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm deleting this paragraph although it is everything I think this page ought to be, it is too long for the introduction and too short to stand alone. I imagine working the text back into the article in another form. -Samantha's Mom 07:30, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
In the six years since moving to Smallville, Lex's personality has undergone some changes. Initially, he struggled to overcome the ruthless, uncaring reputation of his father. He was honest, kind, and willing to use his wealth to help others. He stopped being self-destructive and worked hard to become a productive, valuable citizen. Occasionally, he would show signs of the evil man he will become, but, by his own admittance, his friendship with Clark Kent helped to keep this at bay. As Clark and Lex have grown apart in recent years, he more often displays personality traits similar to his father. Currently, Lex seems to have accepted his destiny of becoming the tyrannical and ruthless leader his father raised him to be. He constricts plots, which give him what he wants and makes others suffer. Lex is willing to blackmail people into doing his bidding. He even allowed Lana to blackmail people for him. Lex has killed in the past, but now seems much more willing to kill or torture someone simply for making him angry or if they fail to cooperate. His thirst for money and power has become stronger as well. Even as Lex and Lana's relationship intensifies, he seems to focus more on obtaining power than Lana and his child.
Like you said, the changes in Lex's character are very important, so I think it definely needs to be put back in the article. But where else to put it except personality? It used to be in bullet points, way at the bottom of the page but I worked it into this paragraph. I don't think it's too short to stand alone, it just needs to be developed more.Marikology 08:13, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

I think it should be exapanded into six-twelve paragraphs and thereby become the entire article, thats my plan, but it will take some time. -Samantha's Mom 21:36, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Is Lex a Meteor Freak?

According to this entry, "The meteorites seemingly cured Lex's asthma but caused him to go bald, in addition to apparently super-charging his immune system."

Is a "super charged immune system" a super power? Or is it kinda too sad to be a power. The reason I ask is, Moira didn't control him when she had the chance... so either she didn't think of it, or he's not a true meteor freak.

Meteor freaks are people who have been affected by kryptonite radiation. Lex has been affected by it, and he has an abnormal immune system -- an increased white blood cell count. I think you could say that Lex is a meteor freak. He has an abnormality which was caused by meteor rock exposure. --Stressed dessert 03:29, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
I'd agree that he does have an abnormality from the rocks, but NOT a superpower. The only onscreen indication is their stating that he has an increased white blood cell count... but so do leukemia patients. He stated he hasn't been sick since the meteor shower, but I don't think that's good enough to say he's got a "meteor power", which is why it's worded like that. Marikology 05:58, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
I see what you mean. You've made a good point. --Stressed dessert 14:18, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Divorce from Desiree

Did Lex divorced her, or was their marriage annulled? I haven't seen the episode in a while, but her wiki page says her marriage was annulled... --Kanamekun 10:33, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

You're right, it was annulled. Marikology 15:25, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hand to Hand combat

Was anyone else amazed to see Lex fight Green Arrow using hand to hand combat? I guess it shows that Oliver isn't a metahuman, and also that he's not particularly effective in close quarters combat! Also, props to Lex for going head to head with the head of the nascent Justice League! --Kanamekun 20:03, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, it almost swept me off my feet! Lex has obviously aquired pretty amazing skills when it comes to hand to hand combat. Anyway, he makes a better foe with enhanced physical attributes. At least, this is my opinion..... and yes, Oliver is definitely not a metahuman! --Dva 20:55, 8 February 2008 (UTC)]]
Awesome, glad to hear I wasn't the only one! And oh yah, Lex would be great with a super power. He could use some Project Ares powers and go head to head with Clarkie. Btw, he sure didn't stay "good" very long after Kara saved him in the Season Seven opener. I guess they had to take out that arc due to the writer's strike.... --Kanamekun 01:11, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spiritual beliefs

One minor inaccuracy: "Curiously, Lex is the only character shown to possess any sort of spiritual beliefs." But Johnathan also recommended to Clark that he pray in Ryan. --Noclevername 18:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I reworded it, in that case. I think this is a really important part of his personality, with many lines of dialogue to back it up, and should be included. Marikology 02:31, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Okay I reworked it a bit to include the new insights into his childhood self, It's long, long, long, but I think it's all relevant, and Lex is arguably the most complex character on the show, so... Thoughts? Marikology 03:06, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mental Health section

What do you think of adding a section on Mental Health?

He had a history of hallucinations:

  • 1992: Lex hallucinated that he was rocking his brother Julian to sleep at Excelsior Academy
  • 2003: He hallucinated Louis Leery on the island
  • 2008: He repeatedly hallucinated his "good side"... the good young "Alexander"

He also had mental health issues when Lionel drugged him...

What do you think of adding a section on Mental Health to the article? Or should we incorporate it into the Personality section? --Kanamekun 00:01, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lex Luthor's net worth

"Lex Luthor has an estimated net worth of $46.8 billion. (Transference)"

Was this from a screenshot or a deleted scene? I just reviewed the transcript [3], but didn't see a mention of this there. --Kanamekun 22:10, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Anyone have insight into this one? If not, I'll take it out from the article... --Kanamekun 01:25, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
I think it's the amount Lionel is trying to transfer from the bank account but he doesn't pass the voice recog software. I think it's in that scene. Marikology 04:04, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Ah ok, it must be shown on the screen somehow - I didn't see it in the transcript. I'll have to rewatch the episode... --Kanamekun 04:19, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

92.20.229.187 00:04, 7 February 2009 (UTC)There are some mistakes with the tense in the opening 3 paragraphs that need to change. Example: He can't be 'being kept alive' if he is dead. Everything needs to consistently be in the past tense.

I fixed this to link in with the present tense and current events. - Arkillion

[edit] Would Lex be a different man if Clark had told him his secret?

I was just wondering this, and my answer is YES. If Lex and Clark had continued to be friends, it is no wonder that Lex would be a different man. He could have even done some good in the world, behind Superman.

The honest answer is no. Lex controls people using their secrets and desires... but as soon as Clark had realised that Lex was going to continue being the way he was it would have been worse. Lex was always going to be the way he was. --Ryan-McCulloch 18:22, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Main Picture

Please Ewokteddy and ArkillionXX, stop your revert war! Come here to talk about it instead of changing it. BatteryB7 20:28, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
