In Duplicity, Clark was willing to risk his life to save the life of a man who would expose his secret, Steven Hamilton, but in this episode, he is willing to let Lex risk his life with Dr. Gardner in order to protect his secret. This seems inconsistent to me. Clark wouldn't even have to tell him about his super powers, if he just told him about his father's conspiracy to murder his parents, he might stop this dangerous treatment. It's a tricky situation, the knowledge of the conspiracy might get Lex killed, too.-Samantha's Mom 21:33, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, this oddity repeats throughout the series. One episode he will risk anything to save somebody, the next he'll hesitate if it means getting hurt or risking his secret. Here, he thinks that he's protecting Lex by lying to him, which obviously isn't the case. TheVessel 03:50, March 4, 2011 (UTC)
