[edit] Distance from Smallville

The distance from Metropolis from Smallville is unclear:

The three-hour thing is not really consistent with the distances shown in Nicodemus and Ageless. Maybe Chloe meant the distance to Luthorcorp Tower; it's conceiveable that if it's on the other side of the city from SV, she might have to go around or drive through a high-traffic area at certain times of the day. (or Choe's just a really slow driver or gets lost a lot). --Noclevername 22:19, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Additionally, Lana goes back and forth several times in one day in Splinter. Since she's the only one that has said it, I tend to think Chloe is exaggerating the three-hour thing cos 3 hours is about the distance from my city to Atlanta: while someone may go there for a day trip or a special occasion like a concert or shopping, NO ONE in their right mind would live in one city and work in the other or drive there and back every day. Another thing: Clark offers to give Chloe a ride to work in Progeny. Why in the world would he voluntarily drive 3 hours when he could just speed her there in 10 seconds? Marikology 03:45, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
I couldn't believe it when Chloe confirmed again that Metropolis was two hours away. I thought they'd at least mention that a new toll road had been built or something, to justify that massive commute that Chloe, Jimmy, and Lois all have. At least they explained that Lois couldn't afford a place in Metropolis... that was a nice reason why she hadn't moved to Metropolis earlier. It doesn't explain how Chloe and Jimmy can afford to spend 4 hours a day commuting to their jobs! --Kanamekun 17:54, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
It's strange because it's always Chloe's dialogue that gives us such a lengthy distance-- perhaps we are supposed to reason that she is off-hand exaggerating cos she really hates to do it? Additionally, she was going to ride two hours on a *scooter* in Abyss, which is just plain crazycakes. Most scooters go about 50 mph (80 km) max unless you get them souped up. Even then they top out at, like, 80 mph. Marikology 00:01, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Non-Smallvile info

I noticed a fair amount of info in the opening that doesn't seem based on Smallville.

Coined as "the Big Apricot," and "the City of Tomorrow," it is one of the largest cities in the country, and is considered one of the cleanest, warmest, and wealthiest cities in the world

Any objections to taking it out? Or we could move it to a Trivia/Notes section... --Kanamekun 22:13, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

I have no objections. I haven't watched the first few Metropolis-set episides in a while, though, so I'd move it to trivia. Marikology 03:45, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Sure one of us should create a trivia category at the end.Brodie408 20:04, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
OK, went ahead and made these changes... also considering removing the "See Also" section, since all of those links are in the body of the article. --Kanamekun 04:07, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] In other media category

I was thinking that in addition to th in the comics section we could make an in other media category, like about the movies and stuff like that.Brodie408 01:30, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Locations

I think the locaton block should be updated to include real-world locations. In "Sleeper" (Season 7) Chloe backtracks Kara and Brainiac from a central point in Metropolis when she breaks away from Jimmy and sneaks into that office to hack into the satellite link. The screen zooms out from where she is, which you can clearly see is Kansas City, KS. Also, from Season 6 on, when the camera does a close up of a cell phone and shows the number, the area code is 913, which is eastern Kansas. ryan.siefert 16:00, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Central City

This doesn't really pertain to Metropolis, but since Central City was mentioned by Lex in the episode Zero, shouldn't it be included in the DC locales confirmed present in Smallville? -User:Adam9389 06:01, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
