[edit] Early life
The details from the Early Life section are the plot summary of the mini webisodes "The Oliver Queen Chronicles." Please do not remove them. These were created by the show's producers and are considered canon. Although they seem to contradict the episode Toxic, it can be reasonably concluded that Oliver's attempt to reclaim his boat, depicted in the webisodes, was unsuccessful, and he lived for another year on the island, during which time he met Tess Mercer, depicted in Toxic.
[edit] Oliver's Age?
I was just wondering the basis for saying Ollie is in his late 20s when his classmate Lex is know to be in his early 30s.
- According to the article, "Oliver Queen's parents died when he was in fourth grade in 1989, placing his birth year around 1979 or 1980, the same time as Lex." That would place Oliver in his late 20's now? Lex was 9 when the 1989 meteor shower hit, so he's in his late 20's too. Is there data saying that he's in his early 30's? Would love to hear more! --Kanamekun 16:26, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Switched redirects
I switched the main article to Oliver Queen and the redirect to Green Arrow, so it would be uniform with the rest of the superheroes, who are all listed on the wiki under their "real" names. (Vic Stone, AC Curry) Marikology 05:45, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Jonas as a middle name?
Is this confirmed? Or is it from the comics continuity... --Kanamekun 17:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's confirmed-- it's from the webisodes. He's acting up and his father uses his whole name (as well as his mom's name). Marikology 23:13, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup?
I don't see where it needs cleanup. Also, it's the featured article- it doesn't need a cleanup tag. Marikology
- Hey Marikology! Most of the problems I saw were in the "Life in Metropolois" section... here are a few examples:
- "Something to keep in mind, however, is that Oliver specifically ordered his men not to use any type of violence unless they were in danger."
- "Either way, Oliver realized that Lex's powers were gone and his interest seemed to have done the same."
- "She attempted to unmask him, but Clark Kent intervened, in exchange for return of the diamond necklace, and the two agreed to protect each others' secret identities."
- In general, I just thought that some part of the article needed some untangling... didn't do an exhaustive audit though; I just added that tag, and figured I'd come back to it sometime! --Kanamekun 16:25, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm. I know no article is ever done or perfect. Since I've seen the episodes, I guess I just don't really see what's wrong with those excerpts. I just don't think it looks good for the site for the featured article to need cleanup. Marikology
- Ah ok. Sorry, I'll make a mental note then (no cleanup tags!) to make those edits soon... --Kanamekun 17:30, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Speaking of featured articles, it's been two months since we've changed the article. I think it's about time we pick a new one. Flash0816 21:26, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Guhhh, I know! I'll try to get to it tomorrow if I can. I was stuck in med school application hell the last two months. that's a good excuse, right? Marikology 07:35, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Featured Article Nov/Dec 2007
Oliver Queen is the heroic archer Green Arrow. Oliver is the only son of Robert and Laura Queen, who founded the lucrative corporation Queen Industries before their death in 1989. Oliver inherited the company and grew up in wealth and privilege. He met Lex Luthor at private school in the 1990s and the two began a lifetime of animosity and rivalry.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Oliver had a life-changing experience after his crew stole his yacht and left him stranded on an island for over three months. The natives taught him fighting and archery skills, which he used to reclaim his yacht and return to his home of Star City. There, he created his superhero persona Green Arrow, who adopts a "Robin Hood" philosophy of robbing from the rich to give to the poor. Green Arrow has no actual super powers, but he has an extensive and impressive array of expensive weaponry and gagetry to help him fight crime.
In 2006, Oliver lived in his loft apartment Queen Tower in Metropolis for just over a year. When he met Clark Kent, the two soon discovered the others' secret identities but mutually decided to keep the others' secret. Oliver was at first unimpressed with Clark. He felt that Clark should be more proactive and actively look for people who need his help. Clark disagreed with Oliver's idea that stealing is acceptable if the ends justify the means.
Oliver began actively recruiting super-powered individuals to form an army to overtake Lex Luthor's Level 33.1 Project. He brought Bart Allen, Victor Stone, and AC Curry back to Metropolis to take down the first facility in Smallville. Out of concern for Bart, Clark Kent and Chloe Sullivan also got involved and helped them complete their first mission as a team.
Oliver was also smitten with Lois Lane and the two began a whirlwind courtship. However, he could not reveal his secret identity to Lois and they broke up when he left Metropolis with his hero team. His team shut down at least eight 33.1 labs around the world.
Even after leaving Metropolis, Oliver's benevolence and wealth continued to help the friends he made in Kansas. He has provided Clark, Lois, and Chloe with valuable information and resources in their fight against Lex's malevolent schemes.

[edit] Arrows
Have they given details on specific arrows Oliver uses? It might be useful to chronicle those in his Powers and Abilities section... --Kanamekun 03:47, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Missing?
Why is he listed as missing?
I know Chloe said in Doomsday that they needed to be guided home, but that more suggests self-imposed loneliness than actually missing, especially as the scene in the watchtower appears to be only a short while after the funeral (notice lack of clothes changes)--158.143.136.255 15:18, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Season Nine section
The season nine material is great! Do you guys think we could edit it down to be more succinct? Thanks!! --Kanamekun 09:31, October 26, 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, that was me who kinda "overfilled" it, lol. Sorry. I didn't like how short it was about Roulette. I tried to edit it down but it was hard since he was featured in the episode so much. --Swedish-El 10:30, October 26, 2009 (UTC)
- Yah I know what you mean! But we gotta edit it down, since we need room for the rest of the season... if you're not comfortable doing it, I'm sure someone else will take a pass at it! --Kanamekun 10:31, October 26, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Oliver Queen Chronicles
I wonder if the writers are ignoring the Oliver Queen Chronicles... Toxic didn't quite gibe with it (in the Chronicles, he lived with "natives" and got home by himself), and then in Echo Oliver said that he was five when his parents died. But supposedly Robert and Laura Queen died in 1989, when he was nine.
Now I'm reading that there's a Celtic archer who taught him how to use his bow and arrow? But I thought he learned it from the natives on that island from the Chronicles.
I'm wondering if they're basically saying the Chronicles are not canon. Guess we'll find out soon! --Kanamekun 09:39, October 26, 2009 (UTC)
- I think Toxic already confirmed that it's non-canon. It's a shame though, the chronicles were much better than the story in Toxic. --Swedish-El 10:27, October 26, 2009 (UTC)
