Please read these directions and the guidelines below before adding a quote.
Add a quote by clicking the "Edit this page" tab at the top of this page. You will see a large bulk of template coding at the top. Scroll down until you see a list of dates and quotes. Most dates already have the quote template in place. To add a quote simply replace the "text", "speaker", "listener" and "episode" values. The quote goes in place of the word "text", not "quote".

If the date is empty, copy and paste the following, then fill in the missing values. (See Template:Quote for more details.)

If there is no empty date, you can create one like this:

  | 5November1955= (the quote template above goes here)

A completed, functioning quote, to be displayed on November 5, 1955, will look like this:

  | 5November1955={{Quote|You're my heart. My soul.|Clark Kent|Martha Kent|Solitude}}

If you absolutely cannot figure out how to add your quote and still want it displayed, you can leave it on the talk page and someone will add it for you.

[edit] Picking quotes

Here are some general guidelines to keep in mind when picking a quote to add:

• Because the wiki software keeps Universal time, the quote actually changes around 9 PM EST the day before the displayed date.
• The template does not have values for action description (such as: (she begins to cry)), or replies, so try to pick one that is one line and makes sense standing alone.
• Please be courteous and do not type your quote over someone else's so it can be displayed sooner. If you absolutely have to see your quote as soon as possible, at least move the next quote on a later date, instead of deleting it.
• Please do not add quotes from unaired episodes based on trailers or previews. This falls under the Wiki policy to only report what has been seen on the show so far. Sometimes scenes are cut before the episode airs, or the speaker is not clearly identified.
• Quotes are not limited to those that are already on display on the episode pages.
• Type the quote exactly as said, with correct punctuation.
• If the quote itself has the listener in it, you can leave this value off of the template.
