I just saw Fortune and I realized... Chloe's farewell was the worst Smallville farewell ever!!! And the most... open, because it's completely unknown how is going to end. She has gone to Star City to help another heroes, then Oliver goes with her. But he must stay!! And that's the thing. How is Oliver coming another time back? I think, Oliver has no reason to leave Chloe, but he must stay for the rest of the season, then only we would have Clark, Lois and Tess. At this point, Smallville would be better only with Clark and Lois as main characters and Tess and Oliver as recurring ones. And, of course, I would want Chloe for the entire season, but the season would not be like the one we have now. Well, now return to the theme. When I knew Chloe will be only for a few episodes I thought about 2 possibilities:

1. She'll die. The only way she can leave Smallville is dying.

2. She'll become Dr. Fate or she'll go one step further than the others. I mean, she'll be there no more, but she'll know about destiny and future and things are going to come up, and she is going to help them and make them notes to say: "Hey, guys, I'm here!!" (such as Homecoming and Icarus)

But I was really wrong. And the way she left is VERY, VERY LIGHT for me. I mean, in Collateral she said something similar to: "Oliver, now I have power!". I understood it as she is using the Helmet of Nabu to see the future, and something like this happened in Beacon: She told with Martha why left she, to protect Clark! That's one of the multiples meanings of the sentence of Kent Nelson in Absolute Justice, Part 2: "You share my destiny, Chloe Sullivan". To leave to protect the ones who she loves. The situation of Chloe was clearly (or not so clearly) in Masquerade: A public man with a woman without identity. Soon or late, she would be catched. I am not amused with the ending of Chloe's story, Fortune was not the best episode to leave and I hope she'll return.

Please think about it and comment!
