The Return of Lex Luthor

After leaving the series at the end of Season Seven's "Arctic" Micheal Rosenbaum has announced that he will be returning as Lex Luthor for the two part "Finale" episode. What do you think the writers of the show have planned for Lex considering that Alexander is now invulnerable (Beacon)? Will Rosey be the real Lex Luthor or will he be an older version of Alexander? Something else to think about: In the episode "Patriot" the cells built for holding vigilantes had similar design to the previous Level 3 and 33.1 not to mention that Slade Wilson knew Clark's weakness.
