[edit] Kent Farm Truck
I uploaded Image:Exodus truck.jpg and Image:Delete truck.jpg. Put them in the gallery on the truck article. --TrumpetManLA 05:23, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome!
I take it your TrumpetmanLA's famous brother? :-) Enjoying seeing you settle into the wiki... and thanks for all your edits! Especially enjoyed your additions to the Duncan article, and your intriguing Kent truck one too :-). --Kanamekun 08:19, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks!
For the quote additions, and for that link too. Ha, I'm too lazy to finish those destiny quotes... I should get back on that. Although I don't know if I'd ever move it into the wiki - it's kinda random, you know? I was more just looking for quotes to shed light on how destiny works on the show, to better map things out in the Destiny article. Lemme know if you think it's worth cleaning up and moving onto a separate page... --Kanamekun 23:16, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Watches
I will try to delete the watch article, but my browser is giving me issues right now. Although I'll be honest and say I don't see the value of the Lex watch page, if it's just going to contain the same information as the Episode page. It's only ever been seen in one episode, and I've never even noticed him wearing it. If anything, the details can be a trivia blurb on Lex's page. I want to start a delete discussion, but I'll ask you first directly. Marikology 21:09, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- You make an excellent point that the watch could provide insight into Lex's character. I'll trust your judgement and look forward to what you can come up with. Sorry for how long this reply took- Internet Explorer and I are not friends right now. Marikology 04:46, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] To do
I wanted to say that I've been thinking about the point you brought up to looking closer at details, and I'm interested in your ideas, so I'll be curiously keeping an eye on your to-do list. I've been wanting to do a category for LuthorCorp employees forever, specifically, the henchmen they've hired over the years. Also, are you taking suggestions for your list? I'll share a few other small details I've considered: making a Lex's Library subheading on the Luthor Mansion page that details the hundreds of plot details that take place there, and a related project of expanding Clark's loft page. What do you think? Marikology 04:46, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Template
Did you make that company template yourself? That's a pretty impressive template! Flash0816 20:04, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Categories
Thanks SO much for helping me with the category cleanup! You're awesome to help me tear through those. I can't do that many from home cos the multiple clicking freezes up my browser (my comp is on its last leg), so I try to do a few on my comp at work during the day, then delete them at home when I can log in. We're almost done in less than two weeks! Thanks again. Marikology 00:43, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Tranference
I think Clark was healed by the Crystal... it's not that Clark and Lionel's powers were switched, there was a third party involved (the Crystal that transferred their spirits). --Kanamekun 02:54, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Beacons
Hey Adam! I saw your comment that, "dax-ur's shield is not a beacon, it emits a beacon".
I want to agree... but I wasn't sure about Brainiac's quote about the shield: "When Kryptonians travel through a portal, they carried a beacon so they could be located. A small shield-shaped device, synchronized to their individual genetic code. Dax-Ur's fell into human hands. Find it and you'll find him."
Usually, beacons emit a sound and that's it. This one seems to emit a sound and then also teleport you to the user's location. But in the episode several times, it was referred to as a "beacon". Is that loose usage of the phrase? Or are there two types of beacons?
That's why I gave Dax-Ur's Shield its own separate paragraph. If you have any insight into this one, I'd love to hear it! Yours in geekdom, --Kanamekun 17:54, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- I couldn't agree more with you, in terms of what I want to be true. But it wasn't just Brainiac's quote - a number of other people also used the phrase beacon in a similar way. I'll assemble some quotes on the Dax-Ur's shield page soon, to show you what I mean. --Kanamekun 12:08, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Templates
Hey thanks for spiffing up those templates! I've been meaning to work on the delete one forever. Marikology 02:09, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah but all the message templates over here are different colors, since we don't have that many. If we're going to adopt Wikipedia's standards, we'll have to change them all, which I'm reluctant to do; I think they are more noticeable and easily distinguished if they are different colors. Also, the wikipedia version of the Cleanup template is just white. [1]Marikology (sorry, can't log in)
- Okay well can you just agree to run it by an admin before you make a widespread change, like significantly editing a template? Then we can come to an agreement first before the change is made. Marikology 03:42, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Organization Template
Hey I noticed that not every organization has a CEO... could we maybe turn that into a "Management" section? Then we could put their title in the field itself, similar to how we handle family:
Lionel Luthor: Family: Lex Luthor (son), Lillian Luthor (wife), etc.
Daily Planet: Management: Lex Luthor (CEO), Pauline Kahn (Editor in Chief)
Isis Foundation: Management: Lana Lang (Founder)
Talon: Management: Lex Luthor (owner), Lana Lang (co-founder)
That would let us put more than one person in, and also specify their title (useful especially if they're not CEO). Let me know what you think!
--Kanamekun 14:46, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Great, thanks! I'll try adding it to the Talon page now. Is it weird at all to say that the Talon has its "Headquarters" in Smallville? I'll try it out now... --Kanamekun 00:11, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hey! Good to see you around :-). I've been noticing there's an extra line break at the top of pages using the Organization template. Any ideas on how to fix that? Thanks! --Kanamekun 16:51, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Plotlines
Sounds intriguing. Do you have any examples of how this might work? My only concern is that some shows touch on a lot of plotlines... is there a chance that episodes could have a lot of plotline links on the bottom of the page? If not, then I'd be game to try it out! --Kanamekun 08:23, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, don't have a major concern. I guess it'd be easier to see what you're proposing rather than to evaluate in the abstract. I'm sure it would be fine... --Kanamekun 04:31, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Car template
Can I ask what was the purpose of changing the car template? I designed it so it would be easy to add new cars, now it is as complicated and unweildy as the table code it replaced, and they are no longer individual boxes, making it hard to read. I really don't think it improved it, so I'm going to revert it to the original format. Marikology 21:59, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- Are you sure? I remember designing it so the cells wouldn't show if they were empty. I don't remember any empty cells. I'm mainly worried about the changes making it hard to use. The thing about the cars page is that info gets updated as people notice details-- it's not a one-time construction the way the Season and Green K pages are. The header and table coding is really complicated-- (way more so than the season or green k templates), making it hard for everyone to add things, and I really think it was fine the way it was.Marikology 05:16, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- So if what you just put on my talk page is the original template, what was the problem? I don't see any empty cells, or maybe I just don't understand what you are talking about. Marikology 05:35, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay we are having a complete communications breakdown, because you still haven't explained what you mean by empty cells. The original template only has detail cells that are filled in. It was simple to use and add to. Your revisions look exactly the same but make it rediculously complicated to use. If you can't explain to me exactly what you are talking about or why your edits are an improvement, I'm going to revert it to the original format and request that you don't modify it. Marikology 05:53, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you-- NOW I see the difference, that being a thin shaded grey line on the bottom, right? If you can get rid of it but keep it as simple as it was, then great. Otherwise, I don't think getting rid of that line is worth the complexity of your version. Marikology 06:09, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm glad you figured it out. It looks great. I won't claim my html/template skills are stellar, but if you knew how many times I fought with that old table coding that used to be on the cars page every time I wanted to add to it, you'd understand the need to have things be as simple as possible, which is why I got so bent out of shape. Marikology 06:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] main page
The main page template looks good, but you do realize that it won't let you edit individual boxes? I get a "No such section" error. you're going to have to fix that, otherwise people who edit the main page (read:ME) will have to edit the entire page instead of just their section. Marikology 12:51, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- If you ever edited the Main Page, you would know why it's unfavorable to edit the whole page. Templates make the site look better, but their main purpose is to make it easier to edit so there's not a lot of coding to pick through. They are primarily for editors, not readers. If a template looks exactly the same, but makes it harder to edit, it's not doing its job. Having to edit the whole page, Edit links that don't work, specific lines for text-- all of this makes editing harder = template isn't working. Currently, the code on the page isn't a problem with editing, because it's just on the top and the text is just a little scroll away. Editing the whole page with or without your template is in place is hard because of all the code, you now have to scroll down to the exact right box and edit the exact line, and risk messing up the whole page or other boxes, instead of just editing the box you intend to. I am in awe of your html skills, but if you can't make it so the individual boxes can be edited, then you're just going to have to leave it alone. I have to step in and object when you over-complicate something you never edit and make it harder for something I edit frequently. Marikology 00:17, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Only two of the boxes are editable cos I fixed it like that. I know how to make them all editable, but someone mentioned it looked better without them, so I took the edit links off of the boxes that don't frequently change. Now, editing with your template looks exactly the same as the way the boxes currently are, except I have to make sure I put text on the exact correct line in the template. Once again, more complicated. Marikology 05:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- So basically you're saying that your template is no easier to use than the way the page currently is, (you still have to put the text in the right place), it looks exactly the same, the preview doesn't work, but I should adopt it and just learn how to use it? You have yet to give me any benefits as to how it is an improvement except by saying "it's easier to use". The way the page is now, anyone can edit it, without having to read up on the template tutorial. You don't edit the main page. How can you even gauge what's "easier" than something you've never done? Marikology 05:34, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not yelling at you, I just have to be the one to tell you why your template does not improve the site. I can't even pretend to tell you how to fix the coding on your template- I barely know what parameters and values are. I can only tell you what's wrong with it, which seems mean, but you have to see my point of view as well. I agree that the current state of the page makes it hard to place things, but that is because another user decided the "edit" links looked messy on all the boxes. I'm being sincere when I say your html and writing skills are SO valuable around here, so instead of spending any more time on it, why don't we just restore these links and move on? Marikology 06:13, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- OK I restored the edit links, and I did find your previous/next episode template extremely useful, so I put that on the main page too. And now that I've fussed at you for a whole day, I'm going to ask you for a favor, lol! Can you put a question mark picture on {{template:talk}}? Thanks! Marikology 14:38, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: compliments
Thanks, Adam. I just got seasons 1-6 on DVD so I should be better able to contribute. --Noclevername 05:50, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Quote
Can you change the quote template to automatically format the speakers, listeners, and episodes into wikilinks? I might know how to do it, but I don't want to mess up your work of art! Marikology 17:44, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Please use full name image
Marikology said that was your screencap of Chloe's nameplate on the Policy page... I just wanted to thank you for a hearty laugh! :-) That cracked me up so much, it was awesome! --Kanamekun 04:10, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- Heh, that's a good one too. --Kanamekun 04:33, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Unused promo pics
Thanks, I'll go and create a gallery of promos on all of the cast members' pages to hopefully downsize the number of unused promos on here.
Btw, I LOVE this pic! It's even better than Pariah when Chloe sees Clark's powers. Flash0816 17:44, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
We changed the colors on the main page, so I made the changes on the quote template to match. But I cannot get the blue header to only be one line. Now it's thicker than all the others. Help? Marikology 01:08, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
